No surprise that anti-education charlatans find support from Republicans like Stephanie Bice.

Oklahomans in the #OKC area deserve better representation by someone who values education like @jenanelson.bsky.social.

democrats pretend winning elections is this Herculean task when all they have to do is follow the blueprint of the guy who won so hard they changed the rule to "you can only be president for 8 years"

Step 1: disband ICE
Step 2: give ICE's entire bloated budget to the IRS
Step 3: record white collar crime task force kicking in penthouse doors and macing unresisting billionaires
Step 4: one hundred years of Dem reign

The First Amendment explicitly guarantees:

-the right of the people peaceably to assemble
-to petition the Government for a redress of grievances
-the free exercise of religion
-freedom of speech

If this priest had also been press, ICE would have violated all five 1A freedoms at once.

Gonna be thinking about this lede for a minute.
(RNS) — Last month, the Rev. David Black stood in front of a Chicago-area U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement facility and spread his arms wide. Adorned in all black and wearing a clerical collar, the pastor looked up at a group of masked, heavily armed ICE agents on the roof and began to pray.

“I invited them to repentance,” Black, a minister in the Presbyterian Church (USA), said in an interview. “I basically offered an altar call. I invited them to come and receive that salvation, and be part of the kingdom that is coming.”

But when Black began to lower his arms a few seconds later, the agents responded to his spiritual plea by firing pepper balls, or chemical agents that cause eye irritation and respiratory distress, video footage shows. One struck Black in the head, exploding into a puff of white pepper smoke and forcing him to his knees. Fellow demonstrators rushed to his aid, and as the pastor rubbed his face in pain, the agents continued to fire.

“We could hear them laughing,” Black said.

"It's not that all technology is bad," OK state Rep. Chad Caldwell said. "It certainly has a place. But it is that balance, making sure we use technology as a tool and not a teacher."

(Oklahoma is currently failing to strike that balance well)

"The data is wickedly clear that computers don't help learning," said Dr. Jared Cooney Horvath, an Arizona-based authority on learning. "It's been clear for a while."

I find myself becoming increasingly Amish-esque in my disdain for technology in the classroom:

- unreliable devices
- more distracting than helpful
- easy access for Big Tech to dominate education industry

THE CHICKENS ARE FINALLY COMING HOME TO ROOST

Ryan Walters is out & the investigation floodgates just opened. The Oklahoma AG launched a full audit of Walters’ entire tenure as Superintendent, and it’s about damn time.

Also the education dept website’s being scrubbed of his culture-war nonsense.
