I think of this mindset these days when people start describing repeatedly trying a tough challenge in a game as "bashing their head against it" because that sort of phrasing just makes me think they're not observing, thinking, learning, and adjusting
and a lot of games expect you to do that

it helped teach me that the idea of "changing your approach to a game in order to overcome a new type of challenge" is something that some people just refuse to do ever

God I need to start learning how to make games so my dream of creating a Detective RPG with combat similar to the Tales can become a reality.
Sometimes I wonder if the thing that causes people to be so against random encounters in RPG's is the obfuscation of how they work, like with both overworld encounters and set encounters in specific places why a battle started and if you could have avoided it is more immediately clear.

I think they are cool when they lead to really open ended decision making, but far too often they end up feeling like ways to break up item drops to make there feel like there's more to collect then there actually is.
What do you think of crafting mechanics? I'm kinda done with them.

Sometimes I wonder if there is a good way for a game with a create a character system to emphasize you are supposed to come up with a character you find interesting over just playing as yourself.

I think the thing that gets me the most about Berseria being remastered is that its looking like they are doing the exact same things as the previous remasters, where the biggest difference outside of it being on modern systems is the early Grade shop,
