The fedi is mad at me for being 'ableist' today because a year ago I said trying to lecture a sister about her language while she is watching her life burn down to the ground isn't 'progressive' at all and is closer to whiteness than anything else.

Ha, I touched some nerves with that one.

This is awful and also the way the clip ends needs to be ... discussed. I don't know how. But it needs to be discussed. Because he comes very close to saying he's experiencing anti-white racism from the other prisoners.

The Black diaspora has faced a multi-century white supremacy psyop. Every other group of Black people is "the worst, the most uncultured, the poorest, the ones you should stay away from." Agree with OP that Black Americans catch it from Black immigrants all the time because I heard it!
As a biethnic Halfrican-American I do have to say that I have a very different perspective on the idea that Black Americans are uniquely xenophobic towards other Black immigrant groups lol. People will hate on Black Americans tf unprompted to you if they think you aren't one 🫩

EXACTLY. Like so much of the anti-African American sentiment came directly from immigration officials explicitly telling new immigrants to separate themselves from us if they wanted a shot at the American Dream, and like, while they shouldn't have fallen for it, it absolutely deserves mention.
For me, I don’t think we’re uniquely xenophobic in the same way I don’t think the anti-Blackness they display is uniquely theirs.

I feel as if diaspora wars are just proxy wars for colonizers and white supremacy.

From what I’ve gathered:

The NFL used Jay z as a pacifier to showcase black and brown art as a way to give us a sense of false inclusion and change. Which seems to be pretty accurate.
Black people who think the halftime show is a plot from the government, can I ask what's the plot?

Lol a man just said they want yall to feel like it's empowering and showing a message but it's not... like?

This was an attempt to make Haitians an example to ensure Black people would submit. The poverty of Haiti is global racism, has nothing to do with the true talent and capability of actual Haitians.

Black Americans supporting ICE and talking crazy about immigrants isn’t about self-preservation but moreso rooted in Western Individualism steeped in White Supremacy.

I'm convinced white people do that 'we're all just human' dance to avoid taking responsibility for being the primary beneficiaries of so much horror.

You can't talk about how we're all 'human' but persist in clinging to the identity that does not view anyone else as such.

That's just hypocrisy.

Keeping it a buck, Haitians and Cubans are tightly woven together since the US took land from Cuba to hold Haitians captive for no real reason outside of political torture.
I just couldn’t imagine being Haitian right now and seeing the way some fellow black people talk CRAZY about immigrants. Like you against them ICE niggas NOW but where have you been for the last like 6 years?!

"...what we all collectively witnessed in the murder of [Floyd], the subsequent numerous acts of police brutality in the ensuing protests and systematic state treatment of Black Americans could certainly qualify as a legitimate basis for most asylum claims."

If Black Americans were to seek asylum, they could qualify
I have evaluated countless refugee cases. The oppression Black Americans face in the US would qualify as persecution.

When I was in college, I had so many conversations with Black folks not from the US that were stunned by how racist the US was/is in reality.

Many said they thought Black US folks were exaggerating how awful white people were, but after experiencing it, they said it was actually worse.
I’m not Haitian, but as a Black immigrant…

we must free ourselves from the token to scapegoat cycle.

white institutions and white standards of excellence will always cause social auto-cannibalism in communities of Color.
The institutions know which tokens to choose, because when they're eventually spent, they'll spend more time crying about being discarded and begging for massa to let them back in the big house than they will building with those of us who have always been on the outside. They're no threat.

White people online can say whatever they want, but the hard reality is that this is the country they want.

Nationwide concentration camps, police terrorizing communities, rampant disease, etc.

If white people wanted to stop it, they would.

But they very clearly do not.
