Having checked out Spartacus: House of Ashur over the weekend as I'm a big fan of the series, I can honestly say people who are dogging the show are just racist LOL!
It respects what came before but explores that world in a new and compelling way.

We're in a fight with bigots who are upset that even though they have a resource advantage, they are still getting outclassed by people with just better ideas and the will to carry them out.
