The assertion that a piece of territory belongs to "institutions" versus "racial groups" is a mischaracterization of Indigenous nationhood and sovereignty. It is, to me, the right-wing version of the settler left's argument that Land Back is tantamount to ethnonationalism.

I strongly encourage people to learn about the history of nativism in the US. Esp post 911 and esp in context of the internet. There is an extremely important history there and it helps explain where we are and even how to move forward.
