A quiet evening beckons. Advent has arrived, a season of waiting, hope, and love. I put together a simple wreath for the season of light.

I was diagnosed with #HIV in 1998, when I was 30.
Many of my friends had died of AIDS. I did not expect to live to 50.
I’m 58 now.
HIV treatment works.
Treatment also makes it impossible for me to pass HIV on during sex.
Ensure HIV treatment for all.
End HIV stigma.

During the first year of Covid, my family ’social-distanced’, even with each other. With mom in her 80’s, it was especially important. So every December day leading up to Christmas we’d each text out an ‘Advent photo‘ on what my mom called ‘The Family Channel’ (text chain).
This is in their memory.

Good morning Bluesky. ❄️☕️👋🏼 The season of blue-hued light has arrived, as you can tell from this morning’s view. It will be snowing till this afternoon, and then it will be time to shovel and flatten before the next wave arrives Thursday. Be well, stay warm, and find today’s moments of peace.

Before the clouds edged back over the sun, we had a sparkler of a day.

We both wanted to burst out the door this morning. Snow! Cold! Clear skies! To do that, I cleared some of the snow on the porch (boot prints), then Liz added her wheel chair tracks: out and back with a perfect circle pivot at the far point. Mobility is important! We laughed. I danced. She smiled. ❄️🩵

The snow and 15°: time to head out and see it up close.

Chega de Saudade
Saudade is the Brazilian word for the sadness we feel for happy memories. Such a beautiful word that expresses so much.

Blessings of this day to all who pass by. 👋🏼☕️
May you remember those who have passed on with love, find hope for your coming days, and always enjoy the present with childlike wonder and abandon.

Good morning 👋🏼☕️. The first coating of snow sneaked in overnight. It probably won’t last long, but it lifted our spirits, and I am grateful, once again, to live amidst such grandeur and beauty.
May your day bring safe travels and peace in your heart. 🩵❄️🏔️

No matter what you eat for the holidays, please never:

- comment on how much someone is eating
- comment on how little someone is eating
- comment on someone eating

This can be a major trigger for people with eating disorders. Plus it’s none of your business. Thanks!

Good Morning to all who pass by. 👋🏼☕️ The sunrise may have given the sky’s only color today. 🌅The clouds were like orange ribbons streaming out from the sun’s center, clearing Grandfather Sun’s path. Look for the colors of your path today, and they will bring surprise and wonder. 🍂🏔️🧡

Good morning and TGIF! ☕️👋🏼🍂 The fog is frozen and making the world look wrapped in cotton candy. With the fog’s cover, a pair of deer browsed the field outside the kitchen window. This buck, with a small rack of antlers
(hidden in the grass), watched over his doe the whole time. What a gift to see.🦌

Low clouds and mountains always make for dramatic vistas this afternoon.

What was dinner? Leftover pork loin, seared then glazed with a maple syrup, garlic, & Dijon mustard sauce with roasted sweet potatoes and Brussels sprouts. We both enjoyed it, so it’s going into the winter rotation. A small spoon of cranberry sauce would have been a nice complement.

Here are three more pics from yesterday’s visit to the Garden of One Thousand Buddhas. It’s Monday. We need this kind of content. Peace and rest to all. ☮️🕉️💟

The wind was whipping atop the prayer flag mound at the Garden of 1,009 Buddhas.

It was mild but gray, so I visited the Garden of 1,000 Buddhas this afternoon. As always, it was beautiful and peaceful.

Headed out for a bike ride & maybe tour the Boise Depot. Sunday funday.
I know there is a lot to doomscroll right now, but you need to plan some sort of offline activity and go do it.

Walking outside, going to a museum, cleaning your home, taking a nap, cooking some food, buying your favorite pastry; lots of options.

It'll feel better than more time on your phone.
