If I had explain American history in one sentence, I could do worse than "John Brown was hung for treason, but Robert E. Lee was not."
John Brown’s raid on Harpers Ferry began on this day in 1859.

New: hackers just doxed hundreds of DHS, ICE, FBI, and DOJ officials. I went through the data. In many cases does look legitimate, sometimes includes residential addresses.

“Mexican Cartels hmu [hit me up] we dropping all the doxes wheres my 1m [1 million].”

Hackers Dox Hundreds of DHS, ICE, FBI, and DOJ Officials
Scattered LAPSUS$ Hunters—one of the latest amalgamations of typically young, reckless, and English-speaking hackers—posted the apparent phone numbers and addresses of hundreds of government officials...

wikipedia's data shows that AI is siphoning traffic away from the site, which is a danger to its sustainability. ironically Wikipedia is more important than ever to users who want reliable information instead of slop, and to AI companies that need it for training data www.404media.co/wikipedia-sa...

"Among the citizens detained are nearly 20 children, including two with cancer."

That's who ICE arrested and disappeared as part of Donald Trump's immigration policy.

It's outrageous.

I've been pressing for answers and I'll keep pushing for accountability.

Wow. Sidney Reid, the DC woman just found not guilty of assaulting an FBI agent, issues a withering and gutsy statement on Trump through her attorneys.

"I feel sorry for the prosecutors really, who must be burdened by Trump's irrational and unfounded hatred for his fellow man."

It's a must-read:
CyberPunk 2077 is undoubtedly one of the best games in existence. One reason why is the attention to detail - everything from textures to animations.

And then sometimes you go to get into your car, and as the door shuts, the car inexplicably teleports across the block to a fenced in yard.
Just think: somewhere, someone with a very specific fetish is finally having the best orgasm of their life.

Isn't it all worth it for that?

Donald Trump lied when he pledged to make IVF available to every family for FREE.

His genius plan is to rip away health insurance from millions of people, and then politely ask companies to add IVF coverage out of the goodness of their hearts.

It's insulting—a broken promise.

Media is awesome because it can show an organization trying to get rid a guy who is underwater with state Democrats by 50 points, undermines any Democratic policy, and is just completely off-putting to anyone who has to spend five minutes around him; and they phrase it as “seeding discord”

SCOOP: Top Democrats in Pennsylvania are maneuvering to run against Sen. John Fetterman in a 2028 primary, threatening to tear the party apart in the biggest battleground state in the nation.
Scoop: Dems plot Fetterman ouster
He's still popular with Pennsylvania voters, even as Democrats turn on him.

Whoa whoa whoa, making people pay for the thing they are definitely using?? This sets a dangerous precedent!
In New Jersey a bill has been introduced to make sure data centers pay for electricity they use. This power surcharge would go toward modernizing the state’s electric grid.

As you may have noticed, white supremacists want to stop the influx of hardworking young people (aka immigration) while somehow forcing white women to have lots more babies to compensate, but they refuse to make having kids more affordable and less arduous an experience.
RFK Jr: "When my uncle was president, the fertility rate in this country was 3.5%. Today it is 1.6%. The replacement rate -- in other words the amount of fertility you need to keep your population even -- is 2.1%. We are below replacement. That is a national security threat to our country."

I was born in 1972. The replacement rate he's panicked about has been below 2.1% for almost every year of my life.

If you're really worried about the population falling, giving immigrants a path to citizenship is an obvious and easy solution.

Unless there's ... something about them you don't like?

It's actually really funny how mad people get when you tell them Trump was voted in with 22% of the population.
Republicans ... welcome to the resistance?
... hormone, which, maybe. But I wonder if there's simply some fail-safe neurological dead-man's switch. IE, if the heart doesn't receive some timely, recurring check from the brain, it defaults to "die" so as to prevent some runaway rogue organ action.
... kept alive to "give birth", but shortly after the baby is gone, her body also begins to die.

The implication is that there's some secret, as yet unknown of brain-to-organ system that determines how functional / long lived these organs are. The book talks about maybe a yet-unclassified ...
Reading "Replaceable You" by @maryroach.bsky.social , and just learned of an apparent mystery I've never heard of:

The organs INSIDE OF a "living" but brain-dead person begin to fail, EVEN WITH LIFE SUPPORT, within a day or two of brain-death.

Strangely, a brain-dead pregnant woman can be ...
So is not having the electrical grid supported primarily by renewable / green tech, since that doesn't require you to source fuel from another country.

And if you say otherwise, you're a Hamas supporting antifa super soldier that's draining Medicaid and playing video games in your mom's basement when you're not busy burning down Portland.
