I’m not a mountain man; I’m a fucking mountain, man.
They/Them
A thing I still probably think about more than I should is the free pass CM Punk was widely given for rank hypocrisy, on the basis of pro-wrestling being a famously craven and hypocritical business, as if Punk hadn’t been the one building his brand for LITERAL DECADES on calling out that hypocrisy.

The Left already talking about “Well obviously Zohran can never run for President, but actually there are political advantages to that…” while the Right is over there like “Our guy could do a third term, sure! Who’d stop us? Nobody.”

When the locals do notice there’s a vampire on the loose, the only weapon they’re going to show up with (being rural Americans) is a bunch of guns. Dracula, as you know, scoffs at bullets.
Pitch: Dracula buys a farm in a rural US state. He’s always depicted moving to the city, but why wouldn’t he want a big house and estate, like he had in Transylvania? Plus it will take a bit for people to notice that the ladies who knock on his door to invite him to their churches keep disappearing.

I’m pretty sure King understands that how David Drayton describes Ollie is exactly how clueless straight boomers describe lightly closeted gay men—“bachelor, nice house, flashy jewelry, afraid of women”—but even if King himself is the clueless straight boomer, I’m still pretty sure Ollie’s gay.
Listening the The Mist (not for the first time) on Audible today, seemed appropriate as I am doomed to spend the day before Halloween driving around in the rain.

Thinking about how Ollie Meeks is one of my early favorite gay characters in horror, despite his queerness being somewhat subtextual.

Me to my wife in FYE: “Hey look at this $25 Disney Star Wars action figure with a perfect recreation of Bill Burr’s face on it. That’s definitely a dude at a point in his career where he can’t turn down a good offer.”

I'm finally watching The Witch from Mercury, which I definitely would have watched sooner if I'd realized it was pretty much Revolutionary Girl Utena but with Gundams instead of swords.

One of these women has spent a lifetime selflessly funding a reading program widely available to any child who wants it, while the other one is an author of several books for children who did not do that.
Dolly Parton has been a good person all her life. She does so many kind things for people. Compare that to someone like JK Rowling who wakes up every day and decides to be an absolute asshole.

I also covered the story when a plane full of wrestlers was held hostage on the tarmac by the Saudis because of some undisclosed conflict between SA and Vince McMahon. How many comedians do you think heard that charming anecdote?
I covered pro wrestling online from 2017 to 2020. I was frankly a loud voice in that field against WWE going to Saudi Arabia.

I’m sorry to now inform the comedy community that in 5 years big comedians almost certainly will still be going and fans will have given up on caring.

It sucks, I agree.

Today is a day when arts degrees are worthless, but the product of those degrees is so valuable it would kill an entire industry if they were made to pay for it.
