In general Costa Rica takes in a lot of civilians from El Salvador and the surrounding countries when they hit political problems, and a lot of people have family ties and extended family networks that go through there.

I made the Moosewood cardamom coffee cake...heads up, the recipe *halved* filled up an entire large bundt pan, I cannot imagine what vessel the full recipe would need. Delicious, though. I added a layer of cherry jam in the middle. 🍽️🍜

This and I would go a tiny bit farther to guess that a lot of small business owners (real, not mlm variety) are using whatever jerky tactics to not offer their employees insurance. that plus lots of families with kids equals high ACA uptake.

Democrats should really learn the concept of "realized preference." There's a difference between what people say and what actually moves them. The latter tends to be more emotional.

Part of it is people don't know what they want. Part of it is they want the pollster to see them as "rational."
