Yeah, I’m super glad to have watched this plot summary vid before heading to the cinema (JP original, not dodgy auto-EN-dub!). No chance does the ’Special Edition’ hold up without even this mini context. Though I did enjoy it as a novelty, for its mood & soundtrack

Sony/Funimation's consolidation and takeover of Crunchyroll and RightStuf has been nothing but a disaster on every level and is actively hostile to fans.

Feel like I may have reflected on it before too, but I think maybe viewing the story in somewhat chronological order (the anime sorta helps with that) might have its benefits. Especially with the sort of visceral confusion/whiplash of going from an arc in the present to the Hidden Inventory/
Just reached the Shibuya Incident arc in the JJK manga, may go through it in full eventually but yeah so far, the anime seems incredibly faithful to a fault and the sort of jankness to the series’ arc transitions and even how some of the drama flows WITHIN an arc leaves something to be desired,
