I had long covid from August 2022-May 2024. A total of 21 months. I had given up on ever feeling whole again.

The core problem is that in a state, something has to be sovereign - in a democracy, it is the people - and you can design and tinker as much as you like but there is no way to design around a loss of virtue in that sovereign entity.

i know sometimes i frame things in an overly geopolitical way. but these are, fundamentally, life and death issues, with a real human cost that should not be missed. trump is killing people. rfk is killing people. doge is killing people, and its mindless rampage will rack up casualties for years

NEW: President Trump has repeatedly threatened to bring federal agents, or even soldiers, to San Francisco to battle crime. His administration has actually done the opposite, quietly taking federal law enforcement away from the city to do immigration work instead.

Hegseth is very transparently blaming a Navy admiral for his own decision. Let this be a lesson for every other military officer: The Trump administration will issue unlawful orders, then blame you for following them.

This is ridiculous. It was the first TRUMP admin which developed the cases against President Hernandez. His brother Tony Hernandez was indicted in 2018 and convicted in 2019, and key ally Geovanny Fuentes Ramirez was indicted in 2020.
Both were later sentenced to life in prison!
