Loved his restaurant in Louisville! I was so excited to see him on Culinary Class Wars.
How does a chef born in Brooklyn, who built a decades-long career by wooing food lovers in Kentucky and D.C., become a first-class sensation half a world away?

Chef Edward Lee is able to serve up a bit of himself in every bite of food he cooks.
How a hit show vaulted chef Edward Lee into a ‘new life’ as a Korean star
Fresh off a run to the finale in Netflix’s “Culinary Class Wars,” the celebrity chef is refining his Korean American outlook.

And it is a truth universally acknowledged that sometimes you should use passive voice.
Jane Austen used 'however' at the beginning of a sentence, and so can you.

Ditto. I looked forward to seeing him with Ebra again in S5. That’s the one subplot from S4 I found most promising.
It's a small thing, barely a footnote in an incredible career, but I just remember the feeling I got when seeing him pop up in The Bear this year. It's Rob Reiner! Just that little flutter of delight at seeing this brilliant man in this show I love. And he's great in it.

It’s good to see papers start to address LLMs as structural plagiarism — provenance, more hidden than the original words or training data. www.nature.com/articles/s42...

Ahmed al Ahmed, a Lebanese Muslim who owns a Sydney fruit shop, risked his life to disarm one of the Bondi Beach shooters.

His courage gives me hope amidst the horror and darkness. Muslims and Jews are not enemies. Our futures, in the Middle East and beyond, are intrinsically bound.

A true hero.

For those of you discovering Josh O’Connor, I can’t recommend God’s Own Country enough. One of my favorite movies of the last decade.
Content warning: it’s very graphic.

The cannibals took “eat the rich” to a whole new level.

(Truth is that we’ll never know definitively what happened to Rockefeller…)
Michael C. Rockefeller got shipwrecked in 1963, washed up on an island, and was promptly eaten by cannibals.

A dear friend asked me if my husband and I had any DVDs to donate.

I asked, “Blu-ray or DVD?”
She asked, “What’s the difference?”
A (quite) young movie lover said to me recently, "Not everybody can afford a DVD player," and I said "How much do you think a DVD player costs?"

He said, "I don't know, like $500?"

Those of us who advocate physical media are maybe not doing the best job of messaging.

You had me at Orville Peck and Eric Andre.
Three yes THREE pro wrestlers, 50 Cent, Orville Peck and Eric Andre in a kung fu movie. This movie's gonna be so fucking stupid. Can't wait.

The Pop-Tarts Bowl features the sacrifice of a beloved figure, who is reborn anew as someone who is ceremonially consumed in celebration.

This is literally the central narrative of the crucifixion, resurrection, and communion. How could ND say no?!!
