For our #podcast Holmes Movies, my brother and I made a trip to #MonumentValley for a film pilgrimage.

We documented it in this #shortfilm/#travelgoue which you can watch here on #YouTube.

Enjoy!

QT slagging off Matthew Lillard is just the most obscenely mean-spirited thing, I'm glad Matthew has reacted and he's damn right an A lister wouldn't get the same treatment. Sorry Quentin love your films but you're a cowardly twat.

To all #StrangerThings fans - please remember that not everyone had an opportunity to binge the new episodes yet. In fact, some of us haven't even seen any of the new episodes yet. So please remember to keep spoilers to yourselves.

I've not seen any yet thankfully, so please let's keep it that way.

One of the great things about the last season of #StrangerThings, is that The Duffer Brothers & others involved in the show were able to get Frank Darabont out of retirement to direct some episodes. As someone who loves his work, particularly The Mist, this makes me very happy.
Welcome back Frank!

My number 1 favourite M. Night Shyamalan film: Unbreakable.

Definitely misunderstood & badly marketed upon release, though it still made a lot of money at the box office. Shyamalan had a pretty good 4 film run in the late 90s & early 2000s. Great performances from Bruce Willis & Samuel L. Jackson.

Larisa Shepitko’s film The Ascent.

A harrowing piece of cinema. A film filled with flawlessly beautiful but chilling cinematography and thematically powerful religious allegories. A film about the nature of evil, betrayal and finding hope in a place where there is none. A film everyone should see.
What is the best movie not from this year that you’ve seen this year? Bonus points if you say why

“Do you read Sutter Cane?”

#NowWatching John Carpenter’s In The Mouth of Madness.
This big, ambitious and weird love letter to horror fiction and HP Lovecraft is an underrated gem amongst his filmography. One of two films he made in the 90s that I consider to be pretty damn good.

The first episode to the #IT series #WelcomeToDerry was pretty damn good. The opening and ending sequences were 😱😱😱

Even though it is crowded with a lot of plot lines and characters, it’s a nice, strong start. Curious to see where it leads.
