Fake librarian, real person.
My first year of college I went to stay the weekend with my day and he did my laundry. He saw the state of my underwear and every year after that, gave my a big pack of underwear.

Got the Nuzzi book and listened for about 7 minutes. Between the writing, which I already knew wasn't going to be good, and her voice, which I found annoying (the breathy sexy thing), I couldn't do it.
I’m waiting for the audiobook from the library. I love memoirs and trainwrecks but I’m nervous about this one.

Just like the Virginia raccoon guzzled whiskey, Ty Masterson imbibed misinformation and conspiracy theories about Kansas Reflector.

I love trying to figure out who the substitute local anchor is for All Things Considered. Haven’t heard this guy host before and the dog was attacking a ball the first thing he said his name. Got it the second time.

I spent the last year or so of my grandmas life playing Yahtzee with her for money, both of us chain smoking, and she drink pints of brandy and I beer. It’s a good memory, but no way do I want to do that again with the racism and homophobia.

This is becoming one of my favorite accounts.
Jean Paré took her love of cooking and turned it into an empire.
She oversaw the publication of 17,000 kitchen-tested recipes in over 200 cookbooks.
Her Company's Coming cookbooks have sold 30 million copies.
This is her story.

For this month’s @outsidemag.bsky.social column, I took a rat taxidermy class, and it was… surprisingly sweet? As the teacher said, “We’re reclaiming what’s beautiful and interesting about the things we’ve been told are bad or gross.”

I love my rat. His name is Meatball.
The Surprisingly Tender Art of Rat Taxidermy
I joined a taxidermy class and discovered a craft that’s far more thoughtful than I expected

In high school, the German club would take a trip to The Plaza in December to eat at a German restaurant and then walk around and shop on our own for a couple of hours.

I was idly thinking about going to World Cup games because nothing cool ever comes to Kansas City. FIFA announced this "prize" months ago and at that point I decided I wasn't going to even try to get tickets for any FIFA event.
The eyes of the soccer world turn to the U.S. capital as nations learn the identity of their group stage opponents for the 2026 World Cup.

Many headlines from this draw will likely be dominated by President Donald Trump, who will receive FIFA’s inaugural peace prize award.

I saw a black widow this morning at work that I assumed was dead (it was 15f) and almost took a picture of it. The sun warmed it up enough it was scuttling around an hour later.
Ugh. Sometimes you see an interesting moment but it’s too damn cold to stop and take a picture. But as soon as you step away, you’re burning from regret that you missed capturing that moment.

I mildly agree with this due to tramautic apple cinnamon and key lime flavor experiences. Pecan pie is usually meh.
Apple pie is bad. This is not really debatable. So is key lime pie, while we’re on the topic. Pecan pie is the 🐐 tho.
