dont discuss, dont comment, dont share, dont quote, dont redraw.
Unfriendly reminder:
some headshots of @aerypear.bsky.social ‘s character Azzy! for fun I decided to try out their art style (there is a lot of work put into adding texture to the eyes, hair, clothes)

looked up the clip just because sometimes people change his words for captions that end up innocently reshared, but upon finding it decided to share the video because hearing him say it makes it 1000% more definitely true and everyone will listen/believe more than reading it written out
gawd so real 😭 a good obsession makes the brain itch like crazy

we don't have a washer and dryer right now and i need to do laundry so if anyone wants to cage their blorbo (or get a bebe, a regular drawing, etc) so i can go to the laundromat down the street that'd be neat! i'd need around $45 for it (doing both mine and my moms laundry and it's expensive)
CAGE YOUR BLORBO!!!!! have you ever wanted to put your blorbo in a cage? me too! and now i'll also do it for you!

this possibly the first time i've ever offered a special type of #commission but here it is and frankly i'm excited about it LOL

Generally you don't want to crop characters at their joints (knees, elbows, etc) in storyboards because it makes the shot feel awkward for reasons that are hard for the audience to articulate (similar to tangents). I like "Cowboy Shot" for the specificity and practicality (seeing the props)!
referenced a "cowboy shot" in a script then was like "wait do comics people know this term?" useful free terminology!

it's a shot composition of a character above the knee (also called an "american ") - they call it the "cowboy" bc it was popularized in westerns so you could see their guns
Hi Kaylee!! I found your work through the Homesick ad you made for Ms. Freaky’s Webtoon 🙂‍↕️ literally so good, I must have watched it a million times bahaha

if you want to quit Duolingo but aren't sure what to do next, here are some ideas.

- Mango languages is available for free through most libraries.

- LingQ is perfect for anyone reading focused

- Language Reactor can help you understand TV + movies

- Anki can help you remember everything

Duolingo more like Sloplingo
as far as I can tell at the time of writing this post there are two studies published in journals concerning the link between AI use and declining critical thinking. That’s two more than I anticipated, and I’m happy they exist. Still, I can’t help but wish there were more… go get ‘em, researchers
last gripe about AI and LLMs for the day: you wanna know how annoying it is listening to the med students talk about “chatGPT-ing” answers instead of googling or otherwise researching them? my villain arc is gonna include a research paper on how LLM-generated content affects cognitive function istG

it kinda gives me the jollies when someone tells me that AI is gonna take my job and that i should learn to code because

1. i've been a software engineer for 10 years
2. are we seeing the state of the tech industry or nah
— in a way one might expect from a human developer. And that’s a double entendre.
the entire /point/ is to cut human beings out of the equation, entirely— and it’s that sentiment that reflects in social, economic, and environmental contexts. in their current state, LLMs suck and aren’t useful because they aren’t created compassionately and do not capture human nuances —
mm I think “they suck and aren’t useful” is intrinsically tied to the other factors you mentioned. LLMs create shoddily made work that is not consistent, reliable, or deliberate. By definition, the mission is to appear as convincingly human as possible- using inbred echoes of human innovation— (1/2)
There are a lot of critiques of LLMs that I agree with but "they suck and aren't useful" doesn't really hold water.

I understand people not using them because of social, economic, and environmental concerns. And I also understand people using them because they can be very useful.

Thoughts?
