the only good thing about genAI is that it got me to really love seeing bad art, because I know a person put in time and effort, made themselves vulnerable by showing it to others, and is trying to improve. I value that more than anything now

I just clicked on an article that's supposed to explain how to remux mkv to mp4 with Handbrake and before the article loaded a bunch of ads loaded telling me to use AI as an alternative to Handbrake. How can ads appear next to an article that are trying to dissuade from the article?

In The Labyrinth of Time, entering the Ziggurat without a lantern is supposed to show a black screen. However, the developers put in the wrong filename for the black screen, so it fails to render, showing a black screen instead

Wow, I just noticed in The Witcher 1 for the special attack of the group steel fighting style Geralt uses both swords at the same time: silver in left, steel in right. I wonder if the blade coatings of the silver sword have an effect.

On Friday I managed to jump a big hurdle in Godot. Hopefully it means I can build the game mechanic of Steel Quest a bit faster next week.

It took me like a week to figure out how to bake normals in Blender from high poly to low poly. I hope it's easier in 5.0

The more I think about the haptic/optic essay, the more I'm convinced it's snake oil. "Oh, you didn't like one movie and like another one? I know the secret ingredient that tells you what made one movie bad, the other one good. And that ingredient is this vague feeling that's very hard to define."
