This might sound crazy but I keep doing more of the stuff I want to and less of the stuff I don't and tbh it's going pretty great so far
Yearly reminder that you CAN just become a different person, you're not as imprisoned in your life as you think. You can just be the one who dresses nice or exercises or reads a lot, or whatever. You can just start doing it, some people might make fun of you but they don't really care.

Interesting (and inconclusive) thread- I similarly find that i rarely walk away disappointed from movies while regularly abandoning games out of disinterest (or worse)

"it's not about individual behavior" is a successful industry psyop to keep selling climate harm. we need regulation and system changes AND they won't happen so long as normalized consumer behavior keeps profitable demand for pretty lawns, SUVs, plastic, meat industry, car joyriding, routine flights

And, to add to this: there are also no rules about who you can be. You can make up a new person to be, and see how that person engages with others. You can change both how you behave and who you are. Nobody can stop you.
when you realize the world has no "rules" in how to engage with others, it's way more fun because you can make your own rules that challenge the traditional takes that might make you feel anxious in these situations
