No. Even if we wouldn’t have moved to Bluesky, we’d be fighting a losing battle for impact with trolls, bots & fake blue tick accounts

Carbon Offsets have always sounded a bit too good to be true. And it seems they are.
Maybe we should all be asking companies to focus on 'doing good and telling great stories about it' - and they'll have a bigger impact than reaching a hypothetical number on paper.

As far as high-profile academics moving out of Trump's America goes, it doesn't get more high-profile than this.

It's ridiculous that most major US news networks are copying Trump's mispronunciation of antifa ("an-TEE-fa"), which obscures the word's origins as short for "anti-fascist," rather than "AN-tee-fa" as most knowledgeable people say: www.theatlantic.com/culture/arch...
Why Trump Is So Obsessed With Antifa
The president strategically invokes the group in his speeches to stoke fear and shift discourse away from systemic racism.

The Reform party seems to have already won the battle on climate by scaring the UK government away from even talking about it.
Starmer is reportedly suppressing his intel agencies' report on climate threats.
Meanwhile some advisers are telling him to skip COP30.

Honestly, when the financial press starts printing diagrams like this, isn't it time for a regulator to step in?

It's crazy that Trump invested $35.6m of taxpayer dollars in the company behind the Ambler Road mining project, as Alaska Native tribes & conservation NGOs have long been suing to block it, which would wipe out that investment. Probably won't happen, but still risky alaskabeacon.com/2025/10/06/t...

The proposed road, being developed by Alaska’s state-owned investment bank, would open access to a mining region in northwest Alaska.

The UK had by my calculations, per capita, twice the number of fatalities as the Republic of Ireland. Ireland wasn’t exactly gold standard. Experts were begging the UK govt & opposition to follow basic science, to no avail. The UK scientific establishment was silent. Only Independent SAGE spoke out

Phang: So, as we can see you have a DHS official—you clearly hear him say on that body cam footage, “I am arresting the mayor. Even though he stepped out, I’m going to put him in cuffs.”

Who told him to do it? He says: the Deputy Attorney General… And who’s that? Todd Blanche.
