Major Harry Edward #Funnell DSO, one of our ‘Turin Men' served 4 years with naval & military forces in France and Gallipoli and attached to GHQ Italy when he died of pneumonia in Turin on 10 December 1918

Cpl William Muir, 2nd Bn Queen’s Own Cameron Highlanders died 7 December 1918 aged 24; he died from pneumonia in Turin on his return home to Lugar, Ayrshire from Salonika

Today we remember Henry Moseley, the Oxford physicist whose X-ray spectroscopy work reshaped our understanding of the elements. He was killed in action at Gallipoli in 1915, aged just 27.

Remembering Driver John C A Taylor, accidentally killed when trying to rejoin the train that he'd been travelling on after it had stopped at Oulx station, Italy. He is buried in Oulx Communal cemetery and his grave was visited on 6.11.25

2 November 1918 Major Alfred J Hoult of the Royal Garrison Artillery was admitted to the 33rd Clearing Hospital in Haifa, Palestine and died there of pneumonia. He was buried in the Haifa War Cemetary, Israel

He is remembered on the Cheadle Hulme War Memorial #WW1 #History #HistoryMatters

The Armistice of Mudros ended hostilities between the Ottoman Empire and the Allies of the First World War; it was signed on 30 October 1918 aboard HMS Agamemnon in Mudros Harbour, Lemnos and it took effect the next day

On 15th October 1915 Great Britain declared war on Bulgaria. 10th (Irish) Div was already in Salonika, as was the French 156th Div. They would be joined by the British 22nd, 26th, 27th, and 28th Divs by the end of the year.
