Trying to think of right-wing sci-fi authors who might come close, and not coming up with much. Ender's Game? Who owned Peter and Valentine's blogging platform where they wrote blog posts so logical that the whole world fell in line?

Easily the most off anyone ever was about internet discourse.
There are many good science fiction novels. Not a single one that I have read delivers a happy vision of the future in which aged right-wing billionaires control the media.

The dream of every Muslim is simply to be treated the same as any other New Yorker.

And yet, for too long, we have been told to ask for less than that, and endure hatred and bigotry in the shadows.

No more.

In "The Naked Socialist," Paul Skousen argues that the Pharaohs of Egypt were socialists because they used force to enact their will. I was told it would be a rigorous academic rebuttal to Marx, and that it was not.
I'm confused; is the senator saying that the narrative that Ukrainian youth wanted to be European was propaganda pushed by Americans? Implying that the Ukrainian youth did *not* want to be European? I must be misunderstanding him, because I can't imagine how that could be Putinist propaganda.

Trump’s agents have detained innocent American citizens and residents, from children asleep in their homes to an Alderman’s staffers.

There are no circumstances where human beings should be without food. There are no qualifications that make someone undeserving of access to food. If you are a human being, you should get food. I don’t care about ability, job status, legal status, or anything else. If people are hungry, feed them.

Ymmv. I definitely was ready to show up to things at a moment's notice, and often did, but a) never faced social consequences for not showing up at things, and b) that's pretty fundamentally different from "consistently suggesting we should go hang out."

notice the general mood of the timeline? how everyone is in a good mood and there’s a lot less misery and dooming? how there’s a lot of “we’re going to beat these assholes”?

anyway that’s why these events are important
The US government is not only a state sponsor of terrorism; they ARE the terrorists.
It makes one wonder if police presence is what causes a lot of violence in the first place 🤔
Won't share your secrets with people you know, at least; everything you tell it is stored somewhere, though, on a server owned by Google or OpenAI or whoever else. They can still use it if they decide to.
Literally the only reason I would ever want to meet Elon Musk is for him to introduce himself and then to say "Oh, the PayPal guy, right?"
He shuts down after saying plenary, but he gets through this just fine?

“Illinois governor says we’re provoking actions that are unlawful,” Miller said on CNN. “If I put federal law enforcement and National Guard into a nice sleepy Southern town, is anyone gonna riot?”
The wet thud of my bloodied forehead slamming into the desk for an hour. Why, Jack? Why do you think "Antifa" was present in Weimar Germany? What reasonable conclusion might you draw from that about the present moment?
"Antifa has been around in various iterations for almost 100 years in some instances, going back to the Weimar Republic in Germany."

- Jack Posobiec at Trump's roundtable on antifa
I mean, he's right, that campaign is very much ongoing, and it needs to be /more/ organized and systemized, because "their duties" are fucking evil.
Gym "teacher" always felt like a pretty generous term to me.
My first thought too, definitely in my top 5 SMBCs.
AMAZING: Nearly 12 thousand people braved the war-ravaged streets of Portland, presumably dodging molotov cocktails and machine gun fire, as they ran in the Portland Marathon this past weekend. No casualties have been announced, but this is a developing story.

Yeah, no, I was... like 90% joking, 10% cautiously hoping, I guess? I appreciate the clarifying anyway, thanks for everything you're doing.
Luckily, as someone who has no money invested in AI, I'll remain unaffected by that, right?
The only times I ever regret deleting twitter is when you just know these guys have some sheepish little reply saying "yeah okay I was wrong, but still!"
