Fig jam has been made. It tastes amazing and I have a whole bag of the fruit in my freezer to make more.
Didn't quite jammify as I wanted, bu, it's my first time working with figs. In any case it makes a great spread/preserves/etc and I want to have it on my toast in the mornings now. #homemade

Great TTRPG storytelling is standing at a precipice and even if you are uncertain what is ahead, someone else at the table - the GM, a tablemate, dramaturg, or producer - will catch you.

It is a thousand trust falls.

I'm so lucky to tell stories at tables where I know we catch each other.

HOWDY AND HELLO #PortfolioDay I'm Kate, a freelance character artist who loves drawing fantasy, women, and especially fantasy women!!!!
I'll be open for work at the start of November!! 🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻
A color illustration of a dragonkin/tiefling woman with deep blue skin, closed eyes, tall curved horns with a glowing crescent moon between them, and long wavy hair going from indigo at the top to pale gold at the ends. She is dressed in an indigo gown with lots of gold trim and accessories and sheer blue accent cloth. She is holding a large golden greatsword with blue roses and purple thorns around the guard. The background is an art nouveau-style circular graphic of gold celestial motifs on a black to maroon gradient. A color illustration of a dragonkin/tiefling woman with teal skin, darker turquoise hair in a braid, closed eyes, and a long tail. She is dressed in layers of red, gold, green, and turquoise, and she is holding a wooden staff with a golden lantern hanging from the top. The background is an art nouveau-style panel of stylized grass, lotuses, and clouds on a sunset gradient. A color illustration of a gorgon woman with light and darker green skin/scales, long dark green cobra hair separated by narrow horns, and a long tapered tail. She is dressed in a dark green bustier with gold trim and lots of accessories, and she is holding two crossed swords behind her head. The background is an art nouveau-style panel of thorns and ivy on a black to yellow gradient. A color illustration of my changing moon Lunar oc, Emerald, from an exalted game. She is a middle-aged woman with fair skin, emerald-green eyes with striking red eyeshadow, and long iridescent black hair partly held up by a golden comb with the rest pulled over one shoulder. She is dressed in an elegant green gown with puffy sleeves and a boob window, lots of gold and green jewelry, and a translucent green and gold floaty scarf thingy. The background is a simple green gradient with a crescent moon behind her head.

I just finished this up in a SmArtSchool mentorship class with Sam Weber. 😊 The assignment was to create an illustration with an original character, and I went with my current D&D character 😅
A woman with a shaved head in gold armor stands among dark briars. The briar thorns pierce her armor and skin in a few places, and she hangs her head in a defeated posture.

I got this awesome #dice vault from Fistful Designs at the @geekyteas.bsky.social Halloween Craft Faire this weekend, but I can't decide which dice set to move in permanently.
I've got my icy blue set in there for now, but i wonder if my bloodspatter or speckled sets for combat would look better?

You can find Fistful Designs here on Etsy! Their stuff is really nice and has a good weight and finish to it. I'm tempted by the Schrödinger's dice tower or one of the large towers for my in person games. 😄

In honor of Edgar Allan Poe's 176th deathday, here are a few of my recent pieces inspired by Poe's works 🫀
Illustration by Abigail Larson depicting a scene from Edgar Allan Poe's poem "Annabel Lee". Two lovers embrace at the edge of the sea, water splashes around them and the surrounding rocks. A full moon shines over them, and storm clouds loom.
Published in "Sticker Jigsaw: The Edgar Allan Poe Collection" 2024 Macmillan illustration by Abigail Larson of a raven perched on a skull with a teal curtain backdrop illustration by Abigail Larson depicting a scene from Poe's "The Pit and the Pendulum" showing a man restrained as a pendulum blade swings close to him. Rats have swarmed around him, chewing the ropes that hold him down. This illustration is featured in "Sticker Jigsaw: The Edgar Allan Poe Collection" for Macmillan Books. Illustration by Abigail Larson for Macmillan's "Edgar Allan Poe Sticker Jigsaw" book. The illustration is a scene from Edgar Allan Poe's poem, "The Raven". The narrator is at the center of the image looking up at at raven perched above an open doorway. Behind the narrator is a tall window with red curtains, and the ghost of Lenore lurks nearby. A black cat is watching the scene from the lower right corner.

Oh very cool. Is it an Arthurian campaign setting with merfolk (as a reference to the Lady of the Lake)?

I've been talking with friends about my newest #dnd setting and one helped it dawn on me that the premise is "Greek mythology" meets "Suicide Squad" but with the goal of gaining immortality at the end
And honestly, I'm not mad at that. 😅

TTRPG Idea: It's a mythological Greek setting and you died a while ago before making a name as a great hero (or a legendary monster).
The gods wake you up in the Underworld and say they task you to end a conspiracy that threatens all worlds and death itself.
What kind of hero or beast are you? -AbE
