Proud papa moment: my son J published a letter in the @nytimes.com today (in print tomorrow) on the need to think our definitions of autism.
My first @johnlangan.bsky.social. The Shadow over Innsmouth is one of my fav novellas, so def tickled that part of my brain on a deep level. Loved everything about it. Stirred up some surprising and emotional memories of fishing with my dad and gramps as a kid.

The US federal attack on Portland has resulted in the best advertisement for a city that I have ever seen. Round-the-clock joy, community solidarity and silliness that much of the West has lost and longs for.

White people who have spent decades thinking “Born in the USA” is patriotic and “Every Breath You Take” is a great wedding song are suddenly very concerned about not being able to understand lyrics to some songs at the Super Bowl halftime show.

Looking forward to this. Only read the novel last year and everything about it, including its origin story and just Shelley’s life in general, blew me away. I recommend it to everyone because I think the pop understand rarely matches the actual depth of the story.
He will tell his tale…

Nice kitchen appliances and a room full of crosses.
Dunno if it’s obscure anymore, but Session 9 scared the shit out of me in high school.
Reading @gabino.bsky.social’s The Devil Takes You Home, thinking I had settled in… until page 90 or so and a series of events in a scary ass apartment and now I honestly have no idea if I’m ready for what’s coming.
Always like the start to this trail
Heard. The escape probably helps me deal with that anxiety. No rush, I’m sure Billy will be waiting whenever you’re ready to come knocking…

Excited for this one
Feel-good read of the year. Things happen in here that are so depraved and disgusting you’ll feel grateful you’re not this fucked up. Such a wild ride. Ty @sgj.bsky.social for the tour through hell.
they loved to protest the musicals and plays at my HS for some reason
Horror Movie is popping up a lot in the replies so I guess that will have to be next!
THIS BOOK. My first @paultremblay.bsky.social novel. Filled me with dread the entire time. Being from KS originally, mention of a certain batshit baptist church made me feel right at home. And a @sgj.bsky.social jumpscare! Highly, highly recommend. I'll be thinking about this one for a while.
