How much we want to bet this is actually about side by sides or golf carts on public roads?

This is exactly where I’m getting the “AI is like CAD for software engineers“ take from.
Software like Revit has automated a *lot* of architectural drafting to the point that it’s almost too easy to go from idea to construction documents (landscape architecture still doesn’t have its own bespoke software still and that makes me insane but that’s a different thread)…3/?

Asking New Orleans locals for a recommendation on where to get lunch is a great way to get sucked into a long conversation about the city. Everyone here HAS OPINIONS about lunch, and it’s lower steaks(ha) than dinner so it’s a more casual argument.
Also if you want to make friends, embrace being a tourist. It's the same logic as people feeling warmly towards others who let them show them their fav show/movie, humans love other humans who are interested in the things they find cool

Let’s be honest if you are going to mandate backup cameras you need to mandate slow speed forward cameras for giant vehicles with no forward visibility.
The backseat monitoring and even backup camera mandates are fair game, IMO. I know parents are busy, but I do think it's questionable to force everyone to pay more for cars to keep people from forgetting and backing over their children. Sounds awful, but these are super rare issues.

That’s the same number of arrests as Chicago, and our metro population is 1/10 the size. This is going to be rough.

Magazine street driving in a nutshell.
One thing that’s so frustrating living in a city center is the pervasive belief among suburbanites that your neighborhood is nothing more than a consumer experience for them and that the city should bend over backwards to ensure they can speed as fast as possible on their way to buy treats in it.

1. Yes they are.
2. Not the whole message, obviously.
3. In the garage, mainly.
4. No, it wouldn’t be practical. Sorry.
5. Purely random.

Saying “cloud migration” is an easy way to get all of your SREs to update their resumes.
A lot of cloud providers have compatible APIs or tooling. If not, wrappers are widely available. If AWS closed down then Microsoft, Google, Oracle, Alibaba, etc could easily pick up the slack. Many companies are already using multiple providers.

"It's almost as if X seeks to divide us, divide us as a country, divide us into the extremes and that is deeply unhealthy and wrong, frankly," Ed Davey said.
Vital piece of investigative reporting from Sky. They've uncovered the X algorithm which feeds users extremist right wing material from the moment they join the site. It is a far-right radicalisation engine, by design.

When was the last time New Orleans had a mayor with more management experience than a handful of staffers? Was it Nagin?
I don’t think it’s actually normal for someone to become mayor of a city this large with so little management or executive experience, though. Again - he’s the obvious correct pick. But he’s an unusual candidate in a lot of ways
Yeah but I think it's pretty normal for people to become mayor without prior executive experience

Maybe that's bad! But it's not aberrant

The “better to ask forgiveness than permission” mentality in action
By proceeding with the demolition of the White House East Wing before seeking approval from federal agencies for a new ballroom, President Donald Trump forced the issue. It's a strategy known as "stake-driving."
How Trump Demolished the White House East Wing
By putting the demolition of the East Wing before the necessary approvals for his ballroom, President Donald Trump borrowed a tactic known as “stake-driving” to force an outcome.
