Maybe...

...maybe I should start streaming again...
Fun fact: I lost my nearly 8 year long job during the month of October. So at this point, I'm open to all kinds of crazy art projects (voice acting/editing/writing, etc.) until I figure out what the hell do to with myself. Doesn't even have to be paid, if you need someone to say weird shit hit me up
Genuinely an inspiration. Thank you
One of my favorite parts of this video? You can scrub two hours into it and still hear how much joy he has when talking about the games. Truly a labor of love to make a lot of these titles more accessible to new players.
I am covering EVERY First Person Shooter EVER made in Japan.

From 1985 to 2025, that's over 40 years and 70 games of gaming history.

This was without a doubt the most ambitious video I've ever made.
if I had a crazy rich person pad this would be the centerpiece of my living room area
The artwork of #AlteredBeast by Michiaki Satoh used on the cover of the #Sega #MegaDrive release across all regions and #NEC #PCEngine (Japan). Sourced from the Sega VG Illustrations book, removed seam between pages, added a missing bit on top/bottom, applying some clean/retouch.

Crimson Glory is so fucking cool
'Way of the Warrior' released on this day in 1994.

A particularly dire entry into the pantheon of digitzed fighters, by way of a still-fledgling Naughty Dog. On the plus side: It does feature a killer soundtrack by White Zombie, and introduced the world to "Shaky Jake."
Bruce Force? Shit, the only Bruce Force I know that launched on Xbox was this
word limit crunched my message - Loaded & Soldiers of Fortune/The Chaos Engine are top-down shooters with unique character options, not TPS/FPS
Third-Person/FPS? Bruce Force (TPS) is the first one that I think of - there are others I'm just not thinking of (I think Soldiers of Fortune (US port of The Chaos Engine) has unique weapons/abilities between the characters?)

I don't remember if Loaded had unique abilities or just stat differences.
I'm a sucker for more visibility on worldwide video game history. So much of the narrative is US/Japan, when the real interesting stuff to me is like the ZX Spectrum, Tectoy, Soviet-era clone hardware...
So, today I'm announcing a new book project... and doing a call for papers: crpgbook.wordpress.com/2025/10/31/t...

It's an anthology of video game history outside the usual US perspective - an accessible & exciting panorama of different realities - and I'll pay 300 USD per article.

Please share :)
The Video Game History Expansion Pack – Pitch your story
Today I’m putting my money where my mouth is and launching a new project — a book focused on game history outside of the usual North American perspectives.

I don't know about anybody else, but *I* bought a PlayStation 2 so I could watch Daylight on DVD in its original Japanese.
25 years ago today the Sony Playstation 2 was released in the US. The #PS2 brought affordable DVD players into American homes, featured full PS1 backwards compatibility, and to this day remains the best selling game console of all time. Its impact on the game industry simply cannot be overstated.

We just need a Sega Arcade Collection in general.

They could even divide it into Model 2/Model 3/NAOMI, if they wanna make more money, I don't care, give it to me, Sega!
Zombie Revenge is a masterpiece and deserves a re-release alongside Die Hard Arcade & Dynamite Cop
The Mummy Demastered is a damn fine WayForward metroid-style game. Great soundtrack.
