16 hours to go to my holiday. The last eight are looking great, building a brand-new demo with some (for me) new moving parts in Fabric and in Azure. And writing code :).

Ignite is really heavily focussing on Agents and AI. I'm not necessarily against it (I've done a bit of work with SSMS Copilot for instance), but to put so much focus on it does distract a bit from the regular tools a very large portion of people work with on a daily basis. #msignite

Ignite announced SQL Server 2025 and Fabric SQL GA
I'm guessing you've seen posts, blogs and social media activity in the last year on both Fabric SQL databases and rumours around SQL Server 2025. Today, Microsoft announced that both of these are Generally Available (GA). This means it's now fully supported by Microsoft. You can read all about this, and more, in the Ignite 2025 Book of News!

Today was a very interesting day at a customer's site, where I had some trouble determining why the OneLake security wasn't functioning as I expected. Spoiler alert: a part was me, and a part had to do with setting up my testing account. Setup The reason I got myself into this little pickle was quite simple. The customer wanted to see a demo of OneLake Security's capabilities and setup in their own environment.
