Limbered up (mentally) this morning to break the back of the Christmas shopping. 2 hours later of online scrolling I have ordered precisely nothing, now full of self doubt + self recrimination that my ideas are bollocks + dreaming of that 1 site that stocks everything but isn't an arsehole company.

A small reminder, especially if you struggle with low mood in the winter, that this is just 8 or 9 weeks away, fewer in some cases 👇🏼🌱🌱

Look what we lost!
Cadbury Milk Tray Bar (1947-1981): A massive milk chocolate bar, made in a special mold that featured 14 individual pieces of chocolate, all connected, and each with a different filling. It was essentially an entire box of chocolates in bar form, available only in the U.K.

I'm 5ft 8, a fair few of my friends are 5ft 2 or shorter.
This is exaclty what we look like going out for coffee. What. Of. It?!!!!
Whenever Maya's involved, I get a kind of satirical paralysis, where the urge to mock is met with a wall of dissociation followed by the paranoid suspicion that I'm the one being expertly trolled.

Imagine being the dumbest member of an organisation whose only other member is Helen Joyce.

This is my mum on her FB page. She's 81, and the WI is the highlight of her month. She goes to the town one and a local village one. I know this is huge sacrifice for her. I love her so much and I am so proud of her.

some significant part of this is just catch-all fear for “this is not the child I ordered” I think
Oh, here's a big surprise. The transphobes don't believe in ADHD either.
then, the transphobes , feeling victorious at how many people they have made unhappy and despairing in the previous week, move on to anything else that has a spectrum and the possibility of more colours than they can conceive - such hateful people - they cannot understand anything that is not THEM

omg this thread
Before I accepted I was transmasc I dated as a bi woman & hoooo boy, literally a lot of bi women will click the "only interested in women" buttons on dating sites or change their sexuality profiles to straight or gay, just to avoid the hailstorm of aggressive sexualisation from single straight guys.
I'm starting to wonder how much "the male loneliness epidemic" is just straight and bisexual women identifying low-effort, mean, and incompetent men and choosing not to date, marry, and tolerate them anymore

After washing my hair this morning, I painstakingly scrunched serum into it only to discover that I'd used my face cream by mistake. 🙄

So love wobbegongs. Everything is good about the wobbegong. Its name. Its flattened Oscar the Grouch face. Its frondy bits. Its lazy life as a hungry rug. And it’s a shark. Outstanding animal 10/10
The Tasselled Wobbegong is a master of disguise that can eat a fish almost as big as itself in one gulp. It's classified as a shark, but when it lays on the sea floor it looks like a harmless rug if you manage to see it. But with powerful jaws and sharp teeth they are no fish to mess with.

Not visual art, but, Django Reinhardt had two working fingers on his left hand; the drummer from Def Leppard had ONE FUCKIN’ ARM. There are no excuses. “Gen” A.I. is anti-art.
If one more able bodied person attempts to tell me, a disabled artist, that genAI is an accessibility tool, I'm gonna start smashing their hands with hammers. You wanna speak about disability issues, fine, you get to become one of us.

Girl Guiding and the Women’s Institute have announced that they will now exclude trans women and girls after legal threats – but organisations can and should remain inclusive.

important to understand that this is virtue-signalling for liberal cishet people who think they are broadly pro-LGBT rights but don't pay any attention to the detail. if the government was interested in actual LGBTQ+ voices, they would be doing very different things.
Starmer has shared his "fury" at a 2022 homophobic attack towards his niece and her wife, an incident that happened years before his party introduced multiple anti-LGBTQIA+ policies that have seen the UK fall steeply in international human rights rankings:

I just don't need to know what the Telegraph has written about Dungeons & Dragons. It's a newspaper for people who are frightened of samosas.

People on a barely liveable wage will look on in total apathy as their managers and directors rock up in cars worth 4X their yearly salary, yet descend into apoplectic rage at the mere idea of a disabled/unemployed person possibly having just one nice thing in their life.

Truly incredible scenes.

Some households in Llanelli* would like to play you a sad song on some very small violins

(Or other struggling area)
But his retirement plans are now in “disarray” and “ruined” cos he’s going to have to find an additional £208.33 per month?

He has £2-4 million in savings/investments but claims he is not “cash-rich” and his house was his only “pension”

Seriously @Telegraph, where do you find these people?🤣🤣🙄
