The dialogue is well-written, but I wish there was a minimal dialogue option in Hades 2. I'm here for the gameplay, I don't need to bicker with this low-level boss I've defeated many times. I just want to see my new power-up - I don't care what this random deity thinks of the world state.

I choose Bioshock Infinite and I stand by that choice. Huge downgrade from the previous games and the story is offensively bad in multiple ways.

Bioshock 2 is the best one.

If I finish a janky game, more often than not, I enjoyed the experience.

Now that I think about it, you can see some of that DNA in Roberta Williams's later Laura Bow murder mystery games. If you just go along for the ride, you're going to miss a lot. Have to actually do some sleuthing, even if it gets you in trouble. :)

To succeed, you have to actively disobey what the game is telling you to do. Even in 2006 (with Valkyrie Profile), that was unheard of in videogames, so it's absolutely wild to see that in a game released in 1986.

As a young child, one day my parents brought home King's Quest 3 and it blew me away. Although in hindsight, that's probably one of the worst games to start the genre with. :)

Parasite Eve 2 is my favorite in the series. PE1 has the best setting, but I really disliked the gameplay. And Third Birthday is ambitious but a mess (play Slitterhead instead).

PE2 is just an old-school Resident Evil clone with some RPG elements thrown in and I'm all over that.

I think I made it all the way to the end of Bioshock Infinite.

For lowest Metacritic rated game, I finished Amy (25%-33% depending on platform). I liked what it was doing, but my guess is that they were planning on making a bigger game and then lost funding and scrambled to release what they had.

This is one of my favorite genres and I agree. All of the names are terrible and confusing. I usually just say "it's like Path of Exile."
