Today, I convened a group of former military generals and veterans to hear perspectives on deploying troops in American cities.

Their commitment is to our nation. That’s why they’re speaking out against what the President's doing as uncalled-for, unprecedented, and un-American.
They’re calling ppl who are protesting for No Kings in this democracy to be terrorists

Four months ago, Yessenia Ruano put her home in Wisconsin up for rent, packed a few bags and left for her native El Salvador. Now, she is among immigrant women who say ICE is wrongfully detaining and deporting domestic violence or human trafficking victims. www.nytimes.com/2025/10/16/u...

Three B-52 bombers took off from Barksdale AFB in Louisiana on Wednesday and flew for hours near the coast of Venezuela, according to flight tracking data, in what appears to be a major show of force by President Donald Trump.

Most dollar store workers are spread in tiny clusters across the country, meaning each store would have to unionize individually. Today, only 4% of retail workers in the U.S. are unionized. Many are now turning to a different model to build power without unions.
Dollar Store Workers’ Fight Shows How to Build Power Even Without a Union
Since the NLRB is not going to save dollar store workers, “we need to learn how to [organize] ourselves,” says a worker.

"White House's Chicago 'chaos' video uses footage from other cities"
A terrific AFP fact check uses reverse image searches to expose how a White House video took scenes from Florida, Texas, South Carolina and Nebraska and lied that they showed "Chicago is in chaos."

House Republicans have not been in Washington D.C. since September 19, 2025.

They have been on vacation for nearly a MONTH.

President Trump promised to bring prices down on Day 1, but it is Day 270 and he has allowed a government shut down as utility costs and food prices continue to rise. Will he keep his promise to lower prices for hard working Americans? I’m ready to help when he is.
Grocery Prices Keep Rising. Frustrated Consumers Are Trying to Adapt.
Record beef prices and coffee that costs $1 more per pound since May have shoppers cutting back on some foods, stockpiling others.

This is truly pathetic. Dems have the winning hand, and Shaheen maneuvering to get them to fold. Keep up the pressure folks - show up on Saturday! No Kings, No Cronies, No Capitulators.
Jeanne Shaheen - the DINO Senator from New Hampshire keeps looking for ways to surrender to Trump and MAGA in Congress. @punchbowlnews.bsky.social

Just one year extension of ACA subsidies would be a pathetic cave at this point. #noblankchecks
“This is news. There’s a bipartisan group of senators discussing several different potential off-ramps involving the enhanced Obamacare subsidies. The group, led in part by Sen. Jeanne Shaheen (D-N.H.), is discussing the possibility of holding two side-by-side votes intended to end the shutdown, per multiple sources familiar with the matter.
The first vote would be to reopen the government, while the second would be on a one-year extension of the Obamacare enhanced premium tax credits, plus a commitment to pass a longer-term solution by a date certain.
Locking this in would require unanimous consent, of course, and Republicans have already ruled out the idea of tying an Obamacare extension to government funding. Plus, progressives — including House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries — have rejected a one-year Obamacare credits extension, which would punt the problem to right before the midterms.”

“Someone who has been in Congress for half a century and will be 86 years old at the end of his next term is, in fact, too old … If we haven’t learned the lessons of Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Dianne Feinstein and Joe Biden … then where are we going as a party?” (1/2) @washingtonpost.com
“Rep. Seth Moulton (D-Massachusetts) said Wednesday that he will mount a primary challenge against Sen. Edward J. Markey (D-Massachusetts). And he began by making Markey’s age — the senator will be 80 on Election Day in 2026 — a centerpiece of his campaign.

“Someone who has been in Congress for half a century and will be 86 years old at the end of his next term is, in fact, too old,” Moulton, 46, told us. “If we haven’t learned the lessons of Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Dianne Feinstein and Joe Biden … then where are we going as a party?”

Moulton is a centrist Democrat who has challenged the party’s left, most notably on transgender athletes in sports. Markey is a liberal champion, often touted as a dream senator because of his positions on health care, the environment and a host of other issues.

But many of the same liberals and groups who support Markey — like the Progressive Change Campaign Committee, among others — were outspoken about Biden’s age and the impact that had on the party’s losses in 2024. Since Biden’s loss, many liberals have called more broadly for generational change.

As the Massachusetts Senate race develops, liberals are likely to face questions about whether they hold Markey to a different standard. Liberal leaders like Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Massachusetts), 76, and Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vermont), 84, have backed Markey. We contacted other liberal groups and leaders, but none wanted to talk about this dynamic.

Complicating matters could be a race a few miles north in Maine, where some liberals have tried to make age a central issue.”
