As Marketplace Open Enrollment nears, policy changes could leave millions of people facing substantially higher premiums and coverage loss, which could lead more consumers to purchase less expensive and less comprehensive coverage through short-term health plans.

KFF’s new brief examining short-term limited-duration health plans on the eve of ACA Marketplace open enrollment. Map shows the availability of short-term health plans by state in 2025. Short-term plans are sold in 36 states. In nine states plus the District of Columbia, short-term plans are not outright prohibited, but none are available due to more extensive state regulations. Five states prohibit the sale of short-term health plans.

Representative Rob Bresnahan bought over $1750,00 in option positions in $SPY, $IWM, $QQQ all calls, on September 15th, expiring on the 19th.

For the last five years, people being released from Cook County Jail have gotten out later and later at night.

In 2021, ~14% of people got out between 11 pm and 3 am. In 2024, ~40% of all releases took place in those wee hours.

Open AI is currently building a data center in Texas that will require roughly the equivalent of the power the Hoover Dam produces to operate.

Last week the Whitehouse killed a renewable energy project that was going to produce as much powers as three Hoover Dams.

None of this makes any sense.
