Doing more wrestling championship belt research. I keep getting lost down the lineage rabbit hole... like the NWA National title may have been deactivated or unified with the US title. Then its lineage carried on into WCW into WWE's US title.

Unions aren't as great as people make them out to be.Not only would wrestlers be forfeiting some of their pay to the union as
"Union dues" but they wouldn't be getting the same level pay they do now.A wrestler say like AJ Styles might end up being a curtain jerkers due to him being over 40 and a 20+ yr vet who's retiring in the next year where as someone say like Marko Stunt could be main eventing every night

Haven't watched #AEWDynamite yet, but already seen a lot about the new National Championship. I've seen strong but superficial takes that, in principle, I agree with. Yet in articulation, don't highlight the specific issues of booking, time, context, priorities, etc. Going to get started writing

I stumbled on some people playing gotcha bc they had footage of Mamdani with a different accent when speaking on African radio stations, eg, he's a fraud or etc. Dunno how much it was disingenuous vs. just appalling ignorance of code-switching & third culture kids but it was all *very* funny.

for the B and G match only. Nothing specific about captains, teams, or even explicitly saying it's a women's or men's match. I get why, with the context of the women's booking, it's created a conversation. 1 AEW could easily have avoided with a clear, if incomplete, graphic. That would hardly be new

Don't disagree, they will kill it. I do think some the criticism is valid and can't just be put down to fans want perfection and ignoring the wider context of the booking of the women's division is a blindspot for TK

I can understand that aspect of things, but what about in the previous weeks since the announcement? I get a key player is hurt, but with a stacked division and the match is supposed to be a historic first, the response feels slow. Would TK do the same with the men's match?

I agree from my perspective, wanting AEW to aim for perfection, even if it's not achievable, is real. AEW might book the women's division holistically better than WWE, that's a low bar. Yet, it's narrow and emits context to suggest that's the only reason fans are annoyed. Where's the build?
