Wish I had the stamina for a joke like that but not sure I've ever had it. Last time I was at elevation in the Rockies, about 11k I wasn't feeling so great - and I *drove* up. Lovely to see, at any rate.

One local food pantry is open on Friday morning. Cars line up for blocks waiting to get admitted to the parking lot. They wait, hoping the food doesn’t run out before they get in! I can only imagine what it will be like when SNAP benefits run out 11/1! #MomSky

I know two people who’ve contracted Covid in the past six months and ended up hospitalized for it with pneumonia - one for three weeks on broad spectrum IV antibiotics. The pneumo doc said if she hadn’t been so young and such a fitness fanatic she wouldn’t have made it. It’s def not a memory.

Yes! The whole 20-mile coastline is high sand dunes with trees and grass atop. There also Arabian-style dunes.

Morning hike up to and along the bluffs at Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore in Empire, Michigan. At about 400 above the water this is just an incredible, spiritual place.

OK, so our "Secretary of War" currently has two big priorities: (1) murdering innocent fishermen in the Caribbean, and (2) endangering the lives of commuters in Southern California.

Perhaps, we are seeing one of the downsides to having a drunk TV talk show chatterbox running our military.

Again, the double standard on how 🇺🇸 politics & the two parties are covered has become so glaring that it's hard not to draw conclusions. An easy way to avoid these criticisms would be for this to not keep happening over & over & over again on every issue/topic/event.

Remember April 2009 when about 250,000 people took to America’s streets in Tea Party rallies and the media was like “oh man, the Dems are in trouble?” Approximately 28X as many people took to the streets to protest Trump yesterday. Didn’t even make the NYT front page.

In April of 2009 I observed the Tea Party rally in Salem. As this front page story says, there were a couple hundred people there. This past weekend in Salem there were roughly 2-3000 people at the Hands Off rally. Yet the Tea Party coverage seemed to take that event far more seriously.

There were kite surfers out at another beach. Saw a guy pull up at least 20 feet in the air - and in my view that wasn't as incredible as just being able to handle the cold water in 30 mph winds.
