I should’ve put 🧵 on this but forgot so let’s try this again

In 2017 I decided to make taking a square of TP from Salisbury cathedral a family tradition

Let me tell you that after 25 years at this company- I only actively solicit feedback from a handful of vetted people at this point. I’m old and tired and I have a reputation for doing a good job and working well with a broad range of people. I don’t want to hear your random feedback I’m fine

Got a complimentary comment on my annual review that I actively solicit feedback for my development and I have to laugh because I absolutely don’t solicit this feedback from my current manager but apparently they think I do

There is one high up manager here that we were all convinced would get the boot due to big change that absolutely didn’t work when a new ceo came in and yet somehow they are still failing upwards. Incredible stuff.

When I first started doing vendor mgmt I wasn’t sure how much of my project mgmt skills would transfer but it turns out saying something is a terrible idea and then people doing it anyway and then they come back 6-12 months later and say wow terrible idea and I say told you so translates pretty well

One of the things that I’ve been forced to face and take the loss on is that all of the people who critiqued Bernie for his dismissive stances on identity politics were largely correct. This is a very bad response from a guy who should know better.

That's notable! She doesn't call it a "pumpkin spice latte" specifically, but it's all so close. Piecing the quote together with what we know about pumpkin pie spice and how it was used, I'm willing to give her the benefit of the doubt. The skeptic in me thinks this can't possibly be true, but the researcher in me actually feels fairly confident in saying this: it sure looks like Tori Amos created the first known pumpkin spice latte.
