If you read any of the modern day millennial reactionary centrists(Douthaut, Singal, Friedersdorf, Barro, Yglesias) pre 2015 their writing clearly reflected a view that sexism and racism were wrong and people who espoused those views should be shunned.

You need to be able to assert your beliefs and stand by your inner code in an environment where everyone is behaving like those beliefs and that code are wrong and laughable. If you’re insecure about yourself and look to others to validate whether your views are correct, you are boned.

here in CA, it is quite common for the walk sign to trigger a few seconds before the green light and give pedestrians a head start. it's not a separate cycle
