I had a neighbor who came over and tried to talk me into hiring white kids instead to mow my lawn, because he’d seen Hispanic guys mowing. That was shortly after I moved here, and it was shocking at the time. It’s not shocking anymore, I could write a book full of comments like that now.

Pretty similar here, conservative family, and for the last dozen years or so I’ve lived in a very conservative area. I’ve never heard the gassing Jews thing per se either, but more racist and homophobic comments than I could begin to count. It’s who they are, and I’m glad to see it exposed.

Don’t let them minimize it. I’ve been around this for years, living in a conservative area. This is how many Republicans (of any age) talk now, openly, casually. It’s NOT a one-off, this is their party.

That is good. There are no doubt a lot of subgroups who are in big trouble if the Trump regime is allowed to continue for long. If you’re not a white male conservative Christian Trump supporter, you’re going to eventually be targeted in Trump’s America, if you haven’t been already.

Totally totally agree. There’s huge danger here. It’s already been bad on an epic level, and I think further into his term you’ll start seeing things like, same sex marriage banned, LGBTQ books banned, LGBTQ folks heavily being targeted…and that’s just a few examples. He won’t stop at one group.

It does increasingly seem like some sort of dividing the country is going to happen (and is necessary). Feels like next year’s elections are the last shot, if D’s can take back the majority and impeach, it’s a start. If not, the options are grim. I’m for sure not going to continue to live like this.

I saw a bumper sticker the other day, “Liberals: Fuck around and find out” next to picture of an assault rifle. Even in a conservative area, I had never seen anything like that until Trump. Now it’s common, and seems to get worse by the week. The right is openly violent and hateful.

I’m so glad this came out. Those of us who live in conservative areas are well aware, but I’m not sure much of the nation realizes how openly racist, sexist, homophobic, etc. much of the right is now. Pure evil. Trump has taken the worst people and made them feel empowered to openly hate again.

I think we really should stop using antifa and just fully say anti-fascist and get them saying they are against anti fascism. Using antifa is giving them some distance and I genuinely think some of their base don’t even know that’s what it stands for.
