To expand on this for those out of the loop, the idea of someone transitioning is unique to the person, and usually involves trying to remove obstacles that cause discomfort or dysphoria. For some, that requires medical treatment, and holding that back is tantamount to manslaughter.

The fact that you're trans even before you transition is 1) a fact, 2) essential to make transition possible for people, 3) not remotely an argument that trans people are fine if they can't transition. It's a cruel distortion to claim that "you're valid" means "you'll be fine without HRT".

- The one that paints a picture of action.

One says, "This is what's happening. There's nothing we can do about it."

The other, "This is what's happening. Unless we stop it."

I'm going to say, I really don't recommend that any trans person actually does try to get a passport right now. You have to fill out a newly introduced form that, essentially, affirms you're a trans person, and I don't trust what they could do with that kind of registry.
