So... if anyone is looking into the idea of moving to Europe, for whatever reason, I know people who were hugely helpful for us, and I'm happy to share any & all info I have.

My DMs are open.

Seriously, if Cuomo loses, it's because he didn't see all of these amazing artworks, and then hire this man immediately.

Do click through. Absolute bangers, all the way down.
Day 77 of trying to be hired by Andrew Cuomo
Newsom is not a liberal, or a conservative, or anything ideological, really. He's Keith Olbermann: a loud white dude who's found an open lane somewhere in the ideological center.

He could easily have wound up on OAN or somewhere, depending on what crowd he was running with when the jobs opened up.
I’m glad Gavin Newsom wants to be a liberal hero instead of a right-wing podcaster.

But why does he have so little to say about the tech oligarchs fueling and funding the fascist takeover? He cozies up to them, as do his closest advisors.

California incubated crypto corruption and tech fascism.
Il Gattopardo is my favorite Visconti film, and I think it's also Burt Lancaster's best work.

Good film day.
(It’s also Burt Lancaster’s birthday today.)

Why do literally every last one of these people look like the Ark Of The Covenant was just unsealed in the room, and now their faces are all melting?

He was always a piece of shit, but it's wild how much he's showing his whole ass now.
Good morning, and happy Toussaint for those who celebrate!

i think if you ride public transit enough you learn that most weird behavior is not dangerous, and conversely i think driving a car teaches you that everyone is trying to kill you at all times

I *like* being an uncle, even though I have no siblings!
I have just the one brother, and so does my wife, and yet somehow our child has more aunties than he can count, and he's meeting more all the time.
Wait, are people really upset that Mamdani spoke about his “aunt,” and it was actually his father’s cousin and not his father’s sibling?

Because that is an extremely normal thing a lot of cultures do. Including a lot of large Jewish families!
At a certain point, one would think they they had enough lasses, and they wouldn't need any mo.

In a bit of a tense moment, one of the La Mega co-hosts presses Mamdani on why he "lied" about his "aunt" having been scared to ride the subway after 9/11 while wearing a hijab.

Mamdani says it was "not a lie" because he refers to his father's cousin as his "aunt."
Amazing innings. Fair play to her.
A likely story, LINCOLN, YOU CAD.
Oct. 25, 1925: A groom on his way to be married in Westchester County, N.Y., reports being jumped and chloroformed by a band of three man who tell him, “You will never marry the girl.” J. Lincoln Laffan recovers by the next day and the wedding with Gertrude Hibbard goes ahead.

I know him more as a musician (certainly his records are everywhere), but as an actor, he once shared our apartment with Romy Schneider, so.
Yeah. Still sucks, though.

I try not to think about it too much, but it turns out marathons are hard. In fact, that's part of why I like them.
So, hi.

I have never DNF'd on a race before, but given my last few months (concussion, depression, family drama) and how my training has been so all over the place, my excuses sure feel more like reasons.

Half marathon still counts, though.
5 minutes to start, and the rain is starting to come down. This is... great news.

Off we go.
The beginning of the race is where hope lives. The end is where triumph is found.

Eat at Arby's.
By the way, I have also gone to therapy.
