If you started following me because I said something clever somewhere, I am so sorry.
Season 1 of Ahsoka functions as just a giant, backloaded teaser for Season 2.
Good lord, nothing happens in this damn book until the last five out of 17 hours.
Kinda shocked to say this about a Timothy Zahn novel, but I am just not feeling the motivation to finish listening to this book.

Maybe it’s just the Monday morning blahs getting to me…
I’m nearly halfway through that first Thrawn book for the new Star Wars canon and while it’s not bad, it’s also not particularly engaging.
Oh my god, that’s exactly what I was thinking too.
Turns out that Thrawn’s POV is pretty unbearable because the narrative is constantly interrupted by him anal-retentively notating everyone’s facial expressions and body language.
I mean, kind of? It doesn’t help that the writing style is really different compared to Zahn’s original trilogy and the whole plot is not very interesting.

And the latter has definitely been a trend with the few new canon books I’ve read.

The trick 'r treaters are getting something special this year.
Tonight we just got back from an out of town drive-in playing a bloodsucking double feature of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and The Lost Boys.
Last night we watched an old couple’s favorite, del Toro’s perfect gothic ghost story, Crimson Peak. This movie is creepy and romantic and tragic in all the right ways.
In his younger days, before I was born, my dad somehow managed to move an enormous rolltop desk to our basement: I don't know how because it looks like it weighs about 8000 pounds.

His only explanation when asked was "I used to be hell on wheels."
Continuing spooky season we saw Creepshow at the Alamo Drafthouse a couple of days ago, which perfectly emulates its horror comic book inspiration: C was not a fan of the "They're Creeping Up on You!" sequence.

Lights Out’s “Chicken Heart” but with an ever-expanding pumpkin.
