A lot of people love to tell on themselves when their famous fav does questionable things and marginalized people criticize them. Dogwhistles or even open bigotry is always "plausible deniability they might not have meant it" but a marginalized person criticizing is treated as violent threat...

Same shit with bigotry billionaire's new SS lightning merch. How often does someone need to dogwhistle before you go "hey maybe this is an issue"? And no I dont think in an extremely fascist era that we should be giving the benefit of the doubt to privileged rich people.

I think a guy with a fucking nazi tattoo shouldnt run for office if he isnt extremely open about condemning his past. If y'all dont start actually holding stances against racism, antisemitism, transphobia(and any other bigotry but those 3 are especially relevant rn) we will continue to get worse. Well, at my event they were signing people up for mutual aid, anti-ice networks, rapid response, several variations of socialist orgs were handing out materials and recruiting. Personally I think increasing community resource access and engagement is pretty important but I guess not everyone agrees.

Organizing and community happen on the micro level, while fascism happens on the macro level.

Makes it hard to have faith sometimes, but it’s there.

I think it does the opposite of drain our energy. It makes people feel like they’re not alone. The idea of fighting back seems less hopeless. People feel re-energized by seeing others show up like this. Then groups like Indivisible actively try to channel that energy into action.
