The point isn’t the sport.

It’s the default US belief that everything they do is global by nature — by right.
Language exposes empire thinking.
Always has.

The U.S. is made of people from around the world — 🌎
But it is not the world.
It’s time the US understood the difference.

Having players from many countries doesn’t make it “the world.”
FIFA has 211 nations — they still call it the World Cup — because it actually is.
MLS didn’t call itself the “World League.”
Europe doesn’t call its own championships “Earth Series.”
Only the US does this.

To be clear — my “World Series” post wasn’t about baseball.
It was about the US naming everything as if it is the world.
That mindset extends far beyond sports.

I wasn’t mocking the sport yesterday — I was genuinely asking:

Why is it called the “World Series” when it’s a U.S. league with 1 Canadian team?

If it’s because there are international players — then by that logic, the Premier League should be called the “Earth League.”
