If you enjoy cozy horror/dark folklore, pagan goddesses and rural settings you really should pick up a copy. I promise you'll enjoy it.

Why not scare everyone?
That's more fun.

#HorrorWritersChat Q3.

Who do you scare? As a writer, it's our chance to bite back, perhaps.
Q3
Do you write horror that scares the poor, the wealthy or everyone equally?
Reposted by Stephanie Ellis
Mainly pulpy horror with the occasional foray into more contemplative stuff. Lately there's a real sense of anger at social injustice creeping into everything.

As for poor... I'm probably better off than many, but treading water month to month. Things definitely could be better.

#HorrorWritersChat
Oh right then here we go, if it glitches I'll wait till it's back up then fire the next.
Can't say fairer than that. Hi #HorrorWritersChat, let's talk riches. Or poverty. Moral or cash, I don't mind which.
Horror is one of the more egalitarian genres I think. More room for poor...

No links please.
Question One
Assemble, horror bods!
Tell me what kind of horror you write, and how poor are you - financially or morally? You choose....

You can find all my stuff at writesinister.substack.com. My current project is an interactive horror story about a mysterious cult, currently set in Lovecraft's Dreamlands. Each chapter ends with a poll where you get to decide what happens next!

Thanks, Eryn. Very thought-provoking questions.
All the love to Matt.

Phengaris does touch on deprivation, but I suppose deprivation of love and understanding, particularly from a parent.

Working on the sequel to horror comedy WENDIGOGO. When an ancient Northwoods curse turns nerdy bookseller Morty's tastes to long pork, he finds bigots are the other white meat! Bloody, snarky, & oh so tasty reading: books2read.com/u/mv5BzX or graythornpub.com #HorrorWritersChat
Image: cover for WENDIGOGO by KA Silva, illustration by Sally Jackson. Morty, an average white guy with brown hair, wearing a blue sweater and jeans, looks warily over his shoulder at the monster looming behind him. It has the skull of an elk with huge sharp antlers, glowing red eyesockets, and fangs dripping ichor. Its long arms end in wicked claws, and its ribs show through ragged holes in its pelt. A blizzard swirls in the night behind them. The E in the title is formed by a red slash of claws.

Hmmmm…so far my characters have been largely middle class or poorer, which makes sense because so have I! I am writing a spoiled rich dude in my upcoming Gothic romance though, which I think will be fun! #HorrorWritersChat

Once again, plugging my wiki. So long as you aren't a big company and give credit to me for what is taken, it's pretty much free to use. I'll link to one of the world pages, the one most linked to my horror work:

As a writer, I'd like to scare everyone because that's me an you playing around and sharing parts of me I can't normally.

As a person, I want to scare the wealthy and the bootlickers. We should all be allowed to be loud and ugly to people who want us dead. Become a bother.

Desperation wrought by instability of any kind, particularly in finances or human rights, is far more horrifying than any ghost. The ghouls are the ones wrecking lives currently.

Q4.
Do hang around for the outro, in around 10 minutes.

Which is the easier route? Or the more satisfying?

Q4
In your stories: is desperation scarier than the supernatural?
