new pinned post! hellooooooo I'm E (she/they) the #author of THE LORD OF THE WOOD (@hanoversquarepress.bsky.social,
2026) and THE KEEPER OF LONELY SPIRITS (MIRA Books, 2025), as well as various short stories

check out my links below!
E.M. Anderson's The Lord of the Wood and The Keeper of Lonely Spirits against a starry night background, above a link: ElizMAnderson(dot)Com(slash)Links. The Lord of the Wood's cover is teal with a stag of flowers and foliage growing from a twisted tree with flowers growing around it and black ooze dripping from a branch overhead. the title "The Lord of the Wood" is in large white serif text to the left, with foliage growing through the letters closest to the tree, and the author "E.M. Anderson" is in all-caps yellow text at the bottom. the tagline, in smaller yellow text, reads, "Even a beastly woodland protector needs saving..." The Keeper of Lonely Spirits's cover features a lonely cottage, surrounded by headstones, with smoke drifting from the chimney, atop a tall green hill dotted with trees and yellow flowers. the title "The Keeper of Lonely Spirits" is centered in all-caps sans-serif yellow text, with "E.M." Anderson in smaller white text at the bottom. Tagline in still smaller text at the top reads, "Living forever can be mighty lonesome." "When lonely clockmaker Arthur Throckmorton loses his way in an enchanted forest, he meets the hero of his childhood bedtime stories: the Lord of the Wood. But instead of the mythical figure of his dreams, the Lord of the Wood is a grim man turning into a beast and losing power over a dying forest. If they can’t save the forest before he becomes a beast completely, Arthur will lose the man he's falling for—and never see his family again." Text is in a textbox against a murky image of a forest, with the cover of E.M. Anderson's The Lord of the Wood below the text, all against a dark teal background with gold curlicues in the corners. "An old man cursed with immortality hunts ghosts rather than making mortal friends who will die one day. When residents of an Ohio town beset by a vengeful spirit adopt him as their own, he must decide: leave to protect his heart, or stay to save their lives?" To the left of the text is E.M. Anderson's The Keeper of Lonely Spirits, above a QR code linking to the book at Bookshop(dot)Org in either hardcover or ebook. Text is in a translucent textbox against a background of yellow flowers in the sunset.

A fake netflix banner for my novel BOOM GOES THE BRIDE. The main image is from ahoguru's newest piece with Nil and Sook dancing very sensually together while Sook's clones look on, and Nil emanates a haunting shadow.

Anyway, I deal with this every day at work.

Door opens, I try to get off, and someone with a cart or something pushed right in, as soon as the door opens.

Irritating. Wait to see if someone is coming out first. It only takes a couple seconds.
spookyxpickle.bsky.social
It should be considered a sin to try and get on a bus and / or elevator before the passengers are able to get off of the thing.

While I have been guilty of this crime a few times, I at least do my best to not push pass others who are trying to leave. It's just common sense and common courtesy.

A most quality leaf #leafposting

Also I nearly tripped over myself picking up this leaf. Mine. Into the collection you go.

The awesome @verati404.bsky.social shared some bug pics recently. So, now I'm going to share some of mine.

At one of the parks in Sioux Falls, my friend and I saw so many moths and butterflies feasting on flowers. It was beautiful!

Here's a couple of the #moths

#insect #bugs #moth #bugsky
A close up of two moths of the same species on what I think might be lavender flowers. They are yellow and greenish-yellow in appearance.

This is a cropped photo that showcases the beauty of the moths A non-cropped photo of the first pic. Two moths of the same species on what I think might be lavender flowers. They are yellow and greenish-yellow in appearance.

There is a very blurry set of purple flowers in the way of viewing them. A photo of two moths hanging out around what might be lavender flowers. They are yellow and yellow green in appearance.

One moth clings to the flower while the 2nd, blurry in appearance, flies away.

Getting good bug pics is all about luck, timing, patience, and probably lots of practice and magic.

That's certainly how I feel when it comes to capturing bug pics. Some so really, really well. Others...oof bahgoof. Not so much.

Maybe they're just getting caught up on reading? That's my hope.

Otherwise, the lack of convenience for the means they can't do the thing at all - in their minds at least.

That's not true at all, but some people are inflexible in thought and action.

Everyone in #BookBazaar25 is posting these "manifesting" Netflix faux screens, but hey, if I want anyone to pick me up, it's high-budget AppleTV. Not me putting me next to Foundation 😂

If this looks interesting, you should follow: TheLuckyMachine.com Maybe someday it will happen!

In a mood to share some cool bug photos I've taken.

Can you tell I take these photos so I can use them as art refs? lol. #Invertebrates #Insects #BugSky #InverteFest
A Blinded Sphinx moth resting on a door frame. It is brown and pink, far prettier than the dead leaf it's trying to imitate. A stink bug, up close and from the side. A wasp flying free from a cup. Majestic. A black and orange fuzzy caterpillar that probably stings if you touch it. I ensured that it got to the other side of the sidewalk and into the grass.

I love these photos so much!!! That wasp photo is pretty dang majestic

A disabled shapeshifter tries to save a city with the one person who could undo their whole life...or free it.

The cover of my novel, Echo Sight. The main character is wearing a feather cloak and holds a flame in their keft hand and a chain weapon in their right. They float above an underground lake with memories rippling in the water. Behind them, mostly obscured in the dark behind the stalagmites, is a dragon with bright, glowing eyes, watching them.

On top of this cover are blue word bubbles with what you'll find within the book: Adult main character, wise-ass funny narrator, disability and mental health rep, 400 plus page count, LGBT romance, found family, themes of environmentalism, justice, and intersectionalism, shapeshifters, fungal monsters, a near-future tech world, magical realism, and "there was only one bed." A modern map of the alien continent where my novel takes place. It is scribbled on in red ink, with such hits as a travel checklist and some guy's phone number, a badly-proportioned spider, and the entire Sporelands scribbled out with the word "No," in all caps. The focus of the map is a circled city named Akert near the Gulf of Afredal's coast The opening to Echo Sight:
Chapter 1 - The Senka Problem

Blood never clings to phoenix feathers. Symbolic, I guess, though mostly just convenient for me at the time. The guy at my feet was super dead.

The feather quills of my cloak dragged the concrete, so I held its hem close as I crouched beside the body. Raindrops hissed as each one pelted the exposed skin on my face and hands. In the bleak, stormy night, my halo did basically nothing that the bright harbor lights didn't.

"Fucking great," said the big man standing over me. A dark-haired man commanding ocean waves with the movements of his hands. His expression is stern in concentration. He wears a pair of large earrings and a necklace vial containing liquid within. His black formal shirt is soaked through, and underneath him is the words "Echo Sight," the title of the novel he's from.
