It's physics in action!
Saving lives and avoiding disability.
3M Aura FFP3 with the text:
"The remarkable feature of physical laws is that they apply everywhere, whether or not you choose to believe in them. After the laws of physics, everything else is opinion.

Saw the Hanna Hirsch Pauli show at Nationalmuseum. Beyond her lovely portrait of Venny Soldan-Brofeldt (below), one line hit hard:

"Just after Hitler came to power in Germany, Hirsch Pauli wrote to Selma Lagerlöf: 'It's like we're sliding backwards down a slope, into the darkest Middle Ages.'"
Portrait of Venny Soldan-Brofeldt 1886-1887. Soldan-Brofeldt is sitting on the floor in a black dress.

One of many reasons why I still wear a mask around people. Because we *all* are vulnerable - yes, even kids.

(Btw several of the people who swore that kids weren’t vulnerable to covid are now in top positions in the Trump regime. In case you needed any more proof that they’re bad actors.)
“When you have a disability people can’t see, you don’t get the same level of empathy. It feels like the world has moved on.”

It’s shameful how society is gaslighting people who are experiencing chronic illness and ignoring an ongoing public health crisis.
Long Covid Is Real -- And It's Changing an Entire Generation
Long Covid is affecting hundreds of thousands of kids in America, and many doctors and schools refuse to recognize their illness.

#LongCovid needs to be part of a conversation about school absenteeism in Ireland, even if it is hard & uncomfortable

Children are still getting Long Covid, & it’s preventable

Once again, a music magazine is doing a better job reporting on the state of public health than public health orgs

Hey #medsky is smuggling Ivermectin in a sock to an ICU patient she’s never seen nor treated considered “free speech?”
Mary Talley Bowden on Twitter in reply to the news at the Texas Medical Board publicly reprimanded her: “I am taking this all the way.
If I don't, it sets dangerous precedents on limiting free speech of physicians, empowering hospitals to ignore court orders, and preventing patients from seeking second opinions.“

Just this week, I know of:

- a girl (9) with new diagnosis of Type 2 Diabetes
- a young mother (35) with new crippling migraines
- a man (45) who dropped dead from a stroke on a train platform
- a colleague (50s) hospitalised with sepsis

A friend said "these things always happened."
A friend kept getting sick. I said it might be repeated COVID infections.
He laughed — “You think everything is COVID”
Then added, “Everyone’s been sick lately — it’s normal now”

That’s not normal. That’s what years of COVID denial have done.

When there were broader covid vaccine recommendations, some specialists afforded being a bit conspiratorial and not quite advising vulnerable patients to take their booster.
Now that recs are narrow and patients start dying and families get angry, all of the sudden it is vital to take the booster.

When people were thinking of a reform of health care in US, I doubt they had in mind to put an antivaxxer who was known for selling drugs during university in charge of HHS. When they were talking about drug reform, they didn't mean put the guy who dealt cocaine at uni in charge of public health.

I have a chronic blood cancer that doesn't care about my age and I am under 50 years old, and not on immunosuppressants, which means I am excluded from the recommendations of these ableist goons at FoHM.
SARSCOV2 did not get the memo not to kill me when it infects me. It still does its virus job.
