They're trying to prevent the student newspaper from printing news, period. Not just a particular story.

"The Media School directed us to print no news in the paper... nothing but information about homecoming — no other news at all, and particularly no traditional front page news coverage."

Indiana University fires IDS
adviser amid push to control
student newspaper's content The director of student media at Indiana University was fired amidst a dispute between university leadership and editors at the Indiana Daily Student over what content gets printed in the student newspaper.

As director of student media, Jim Rodenbush did not directly oversee or have any say over the content published in the IDS, per a charter between the IDS and the university. But he told IndyStar his firing follows a series of meetings with IU Media School leadership in which it grew increasingly apparent they were expecting him to officially prohibit students from publishing news.

Basically, by including word for word the 10 Commandments from THEIR CHOSEN VERSION of the Bible, Arkansas Evangelicals are creating precedent that other Christians don't count. This is a big deal!

Canada admitted it was committing genocide on Indigenous children over 100 years ago.

Only ghouls demand bodies after the perpetrator has admitted guilt.
breeno.bsky.social
Say it with me: They weren't "Residential Schools".

They were FORCED LABOUR DEATH CAMPS that incarcerated Indigenous children as inmates.

#Genocide admitted by the chief Indian Agent of #Canada in 1914.

Read it and weep for the children, our cherished relatives.
It cannot be gainsaid that in the early days of school administration in the territories, while the problem was still a new one, the system was open to criticism. Insufficient care was exercised in the admission of children to the schools. The well-known predisposition of Indians to tuberculosis resulted in a very large percentage of deaths among the pupils. They were housed in buildings not carefully designed for school purposes, and these buildings became infected and dangerous to the inmates. It is quite within the mark to say that fifty percent cent of the children who passed through the schools did not live to benefit from the education which they had received therein.

Between this, the resegregation of the military, and the retooling of the Department of Justice to focus on (fake) discrimination against white Christians, and eviscerating Civil Rights Act enforcement, they have nearly erased the structural legacy of the Civil Rights Movement.

yeah; Elon Musk isn't a Christian. He's coming from weird millenarian atheist circles...and again, his cuts to USAID are probably going to kill 14 million people.

absolutely as bad as anything the christians have done.

One of the themes in the replies here is that "At least atheist aren't ruining the country like the Christians." And like, a significant part of the Trump movement comes from GamerGate, which had serious over lap with the mid 2010s capital A Atheism.

The Ling Long Chinese Museum in Chicago opened prior to the 1934 World's Fair hoping to draw visitors and help erase the popular view that US Chinatowns were "immoral and dangerous."

The museum housed a large altar in the rear of the main arcade to enshrine an icon of Guanyin. 🧵
🗃️ 📜 #Chicago
The image depicts a colorful interior scene from the Ling Long Chinese Museum, specifically the so-called “Temple of Kung Yin” [sic]. It showcases a seated image of Guanyin on a lotus pedestal. The image is centrally positioned and surrounded by intricate ornamental pillars and panels featuring decorative patterns and red and yellow Chinese text. Two lion statues flank the pedestal, contributing to the symmetrical composition. The background includes a richly decorated wall with intricate artwork. The floor consists of multicolored tiles, adding texture to the scene.

I can’t help but think today about how many young people were savaged on social media, branded as anti-semites and abandoned by their schools for daring to call for a ceasefire. I remember saying that it was the first time I can remember that calling for ceasefire was regarded as a hostile demand.
