fr like IRL my interactions on a monthly basis might consist of a dozen ppl, and that's including 2(!) friends I play game with exclusively online.

I don't know how I would cope with orders of magnitude more interaction on here.

These should be one-to-one emails, DMs or phone calls as issues arise.

Conference calls should be for general info. Go through the motions, go home. Ensure the team is on the same page.

If you ask me open-ended questions then I disengage pretty quick.

If it's a conference call and you're just asking questions to reassure your ego, at least wait until I'm off the call and feel free to waste everyone else's time.

If ppl could stay true to etiquette, an actual itinerary, + timeframe then I would maybe do some phone calls.

Which reminds me of the few times I was voluntold to take minutes for this executive meeting and I straight up would stop writing when they veered off-topic 😅

This year, when I was at work, I straight up told everyone that I don't do phones. I did the monthly Teams call but it cost me.

At work it led to meltdowns, and I'd have to negotiate with myself by promising treats in order to get myself to answer the phone, and even then sometimes I'd just sit there staring blankly at my monitor dealing with a meltdown.

One thing I have had less and less tolerance for in the last few years (at least since 2023) are phone calls, even from coworkers or friends (family already know not to ask)

I had help previously but it wasn't working out and l've had to do a lot of it on my own, now I'm stuck in a situation where working isn't possible for my health and while I'm already caretaking for my disabled child that needs constant care. I did not ever envision this happening to me and have always worked hard to take care of my family but now I'm in what feels like an impossible situation trying my best to take care of my kids and myself so I can stay around for them as long as possible. Im not enjoying coming online asking for help but I have no where else to turn. I'm doing everything I can to get help but it's not

It can get so touchy, like walking on eggshells when broaching the subject.

Gets amped up in surgical daycare, like I cant be too enthusiastic about pain management even as my throat burns with fury post-surgery.
