ongoing thread containing videos of great live performances. gonna try to maintain this through the end of 2025.
we really need more analysis of the very strange time in the early 90s when a handful of bands were trying to make the Sunset Strip sound into something more cerebral/experimental. Extreme's "Pornograffitti" is probably the ur-example but this and T-Ride's s/t deserve a lot more attention.
Life, Sex & Death - The Silent Majority

A hair metal band tries to adapt to the 90s w/ a frontman whose story was pure pro wrestling (and whom you could smell a mile away). How that genre could've evolved...

Highlights: Jawohl Asshole, Fuckin' Shit Ass, School's for Fools, Telephone Call

Has this World Series consistently featured the highest quality of baseball? No. Has it featured the widest array possible of beautiful, weird, specific baseball delights? Yes.

sonofabitch that was a World-ass Series
all that's left is for the Jays get two runs off of some goofy ground rule double
missing a catch on a popup fly. walkoff homer at 3-2 with two outs and no one on base. RBI off a bunt. anything. please.
I confess that I was rooting for the Dodgers because I called them to win it (and don't fool yourselves into thinking the Jays don't have overpaid-as-fuck players) but now I just want to see this series end in the most ridiculous way possible.
is Hernandez ok? did he even know Pages made the catch?
as the years pile up I see more and more evidence to support my hypothesis that tech people all fucked off in their humanities classes and as a result the only thing they get from all the sci-fi they consume is "wow wouldn't that be cool"
holy shit what a play.

baseball is fucking amazing lol

At the kid’s school halloween parade and there’s a dressed in full Rhythm Nation music video costume and she was trying to get through the crowd saying “excuse me Janet coming through, Ms Jackson if you’re nasty, excuse me”

My discord once again proving they are the best community on the net

So after my Bday EP they decided to keep the Alicia Cordiscord Elysium project going as an open collab and have now made a Halloween EP! An original track and two covers--stunning!!

this is the "Ride the Lightning" of the 2000s. no exaggeration.

no other young band could match COB's infectious energy and raw talent, nor did they have Alexi Laiho's once-in-a-generation songwriting savvy. he made ancient metal tropes sound brand new, and made it look piss easy.

GO LISTEN NOW!
happy 25 to this all timer
seriously, think of how different things would be if Metallica had sprung for a plane ticket instead of putting him on a 3,000-mile bus ride back to LA. he spent that whole trip mapping out the rest of his life with being mad at Metallica as his compass and here we are.
⚡️It's official: MEGADETH are covering METALLICA's "Ride the Lightning" on final LP.
