we've all just accepted "underweight" "normal weight" "overweight" and "obese" as value-neutral apolitical terms when they're fucking not. under what weight? over what weight? most westerners have a bmi above 25, why is it, in the western world, that the average body is labelled as abnormal?

i am not and never have been fat so maybe i'm wrong about this but "obese" sounds way more hateful than just "fat". the fact that "obese" is the word adopted by the healthcare industry does not make it the more respectful word.

I’ve no idea when winter officially takes place but I consider it to start on the first day back at work in January. It begins the precise moment there is nothing left to look forward to. In winter, everything is dead. It is nighttime when you go to work and nighttime when you leave, always nighttime really because in the day there is often no weather to speak of, just the ceaseless grey of the island. There are no bank holidays, or national days of celebration, or really any kind of item to mark the calendar at all. There’s just Valentines Day - a day reserved for fools, in which they pay extortionate amounts to have dinner with their partner in public, so that they can demonstrate to all the other witless couples how thoroughly they have submerged the intimacies of their life to commerce and social expectation.

There is no texture to winter. Winter is a tomb. You just grind your way through it, January through to March, around 100 days of marrow-cold misery, and hope to come out the other side."

This is I think also one of the reasons you (you as in a regular person) shouldn't got into nazi places to try and 'debate' them (or worse, to hang out and check the vibe. I know somebody who radicalized a lot after doing that to neo-nazi metal concerts (not the only reason he radicalized)).

like i do not think you're obligated to label your sexuality but why are people so afraid to simply say bisexual. why do people prefer to say an entire sentence over one word. why do people act like bisexuality is too complicated to be labelled.
