New: Conde Nast fired four employees who were among a group that confronted the company's head of human resources on Wednesday over the decision to fold Teen Vogue into Vogue/recent cuts. Employees who were fired included journalists from the New Yorker, Wired, and Bon Appétit.

Massachusetts is outdoing other states because they are the first to require insurers to cover the cost of COVID shots and other vaccines recommended by state health officials.

Vaccines are not accessible if they are unaffordable. Every state needs to follow their lead!
This notice provides guidance from the Massachusetts Division of Insurance (DOI) and Department of Public Health (DPH) to Carriers about Massachusetts guidelines for vaccines, and to clarify the DOI’s expectations regarding coverage for vaccines within Massachusetts-issued insured health plans. Under the provisions of M.G.L. c. 176O, §6(a), and the DOI regulation for Managed Care Protections and Accreditation of Carriers, 211 CMR 52.00, in 211 CMR 52.13, Carriers are expected to provide clear explanations within Evidence of Coverage materials to persons covered within Massachusetts-issued insured health plans about benefits for vaccines. The DOI also expects other Carrier communication materials to impart clear information about vaccine coverage. Coverage for Vaccines Carriers are expected to provide coverage for all vaccines and the cost to administer vaccines, without cost-sharing and without the use of any utilization management, for persons covered under Massachusetts-issued insured health plans who satisfy the recommended guidelines established by DPH for the provision of immunizations in Massachusetts. Carriers are expected to update all Evidences of Coverage in accordance with 211 CMR 52.13, and to make clear in all online information how eligible persons may access covered benefits for vaccines. Carrier products with prescription drug formularies may limit access to vaccines to those specified on their plan formularies, provided that there is at least one product on the plan formulary that will address each item on the DPH recommended guidelines for vaccines. Health plans that offer non-emergency coverage through a closed network of providers may limit access to those health care practitioners or pharmacies that are part of their closed networks.

None of this is to say that a cert grant is impossible, that overturning Obergefell isn’t a serious goal of this admin, or that people shouldn’t start thinking about ways to protect themselves and their families, but I am approaching all of this coverage with skepticism and a lot of questions.

Davis filed her most recent petition on July 24. I can only find 2 articles about it in July from Catholic News Agency and Courthouse News Service. Weeks later, it’s all over social and mainstream media as if it happened yesterday. Why? Did someone tip off MSM? In whose interest is it to fuel panic?

In fact, Davis asked the Court to hear her case in 2020 and cert was denied. Reporting on it was slim, because again, cert petitions are rarely newsworthy.

Despite misleading headlines, the Court has not decided yet whether to take up the case. SCOTUS receives 7 to 8 thousand cert petitions each year and decides to hear ~80. Rarely do petitions that haven’t been granted make national news because there is roughly a 1% they will even be heard.

There is so much context missing from the discussion of the Davis cert petition. People are understandably scared. It’s also incredibly dangerous to act like same sex marriage has already been overturned and much of the mainstream reporting is frankly irresponsible.

We are in the middle of a historic affordability crisis. Millions of low income New Yorkers need this apartment and an apartment like it. Yet your apartment remains rented to rich people who don't need it. Today, I am calling on you to move out immediately and give your affordable housing back to an unhoused family who need it. Leaders must show moral clarity. Time to move out.

They let a nationwide injunction kill Biden’s student loan relief when they had a chance to rule on it.

5 months into Trump’s presidency, suddenly nationwide injunctions are a grave threat to executive power and they must rule.
