It was an honour to contribute in the event, and thank our brilliant Chancellor for funding the expansion of free school meals to all families on Universal Credit, as well as delivering for our community by ensuring the extension of the Tyne and Wear Metro to Washington.

At Labour Conference, the Social Market Foundation hosted a great event of Matt Forde in conversation with Chancellor of the Exchequer Rachel Reeves.

It was brilliant to hear Rachel's Party Conference traditions and some of her day-to-day routine as she gears up to deliver the Autumn Budget.

Today I visited Barmston Primary's new school-based nursery, one of 300 created or expanded by this Labour Government.

It was amazing to see children in such a nurturing educational environment, on school grounds, and the impact that this can have in making working parents' lives easier.

CAMRA have launched the second year of Gateshead pub month this October. Pubs traditionally struggle during the autumn and this is a great way to support local businesses in Gateshead, with 19 venues participating.

In stark contrast, Nigel Farage and Reform spread dangerous medical misinformation and advocate for ending the NHS as we know it. The Labour Party will always fight for the NHS, for the whole country, free at the point of use.

Labour is making a difference, with 5 million more NHS appointments, 2,000 more GPs and online booking systems to end the 8am rush.

A Youth Guarantee backed by a new target of 2/3 of young people going into university or a gold standard apprenticeship.

A new NHS Online, saving working people time where digital appointments meaning faster and more effective care. A system that can deliver up to 8.5 million appointments. (2/3)

We have only just started. Today the Chancellor announced record investment in skills to support our young people. This includes a new Youth Guarantee and delivering a library in every primary school in England as part of Labour's plans to give all children the best start in life.
