It was great to speak with Dr Zoe Williams about the importance of regularly self-checking, it takes two minutes, once a month – if you notice something unusual speak to your GP.

Self-checking not on your to-do list this month? Make sure you set a reminder!

MK SNAP does incredible work in Milton Keynes providing opportunities, skills and support to adults with learning disabilities – it was a pleasure to visit their facilities in Walnut Tree during the summer and see the gallery worthy art made by the adults there.

Friday evenings are spent best fundraising! It was great to attend the Fire Walk for MK SNAP which saw members of our community including our mayor take on hot embers to raise money for this fantastic organisation.

The Hollie Guard app also has a free version which includes alert and journey features to keep you and loved ones safe whether that be during the commute or on a walk. Let’s make our city a safer place for everyone.

TSB offer up to £500, that does not need to be repaid, to those fleeing a domestic abuse relationship but are unable to due to lack of money – money should never be a barrier to safety. They also provide access to the Hollie Guard app which turns your phone into a personal safety device.

It was an honour to meet with the Hollie Gazzard Trust and TSB in Parliament who both play an integral role in supporting survivors of abuse and tackling violence against women and girls – a matter that is so important to our communities here in Milton Keynes and across the UK.

A huge congratulations to our winners who will have their art displayed in Milton Keynes Gallery!

There was such a range of pieces by our incredible young people, depicting their grandparents and inspirational older people they know through paint, pencil and collage. We have an amazingly talented generation of young artists in our city.

What a lovely evening spent at the “Wrinkles and Smiles” exhibition hosted by Age UK in Middleton Hall – an exhibition designed to bridge the gap between generations through art.

After their DOGE-style “cost cutting” raids found no money in local councils left to cut after Tory austerity, they’re on the brink of raising council tax.

Maybe giving the Reform party a crash course in how local government works would be better value for money for taxpayers…

In Milton Keynes we have so many incredible women leaders, from our local government to our charities and small businesses.

It was also great to discuss the White Ribbon campaign and the incredible work they’re doing.

Last week I went to our amazing YMCA to take part in the EMpoWer event held in collaboration with EMW Law LLP and the YMCA.

These sessions are designed to build a network and empower those who are advancing women's leadership in our local area – a matter that is close to my heart as a woman MP.

Glad to have a government taking the task of ending homelessness seriously, the way we did in MK

It was great to welcome the Chief Secretary to the Treasury, James Murray to Milton Keynes and host the Major Projects Association for their annual conference.

As a city Milton Keynes shows the potential and possibility of place-based infrastructure projects.

I’m so pleased that this Labour Government has recognised how important young people are to our local communities and has plans to lower the voting age to 16.

Young people are not just the leaders of tomorrow, they’re shaping today.

The annual Milton Keynes Youth Summit is an opportunity for young people from schools across the city to come together to discuss the role of young people in our local communities and take part in skills workshops.

This month is Milton Keynes City of Codes and Light Festival 2025 – a celebration of where science meets art, organised by Milton Keynes Islamic Arts and Culture.

I had the opportunity this weekend to see the breathtaking “Mind and Matter” projection at the Milton Keynes Central Library.
