if we're gonna use this moment to crash course society on the state of internet discourse can we PLEASE get everyone familiar with sealioning, it's never been so important.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sealion...
Wonderware webcomic by David Malki, drawn in a detailed black and white old timey style, depicts a couple whose conversation is interrupted by a sealion.
Woman: I don't mind most marine mammals, but sea lions? I could do without sea lions.
Man: Don't say that out loud!
Sea lion: Pardon me, I couldn't help but overhear...
Man: Now you've done it.
Sea lion: I would like to have a conversation about your statement. Would you mind showing me evidence of any negative thing any sea lion has ever done to you?
Woman: Go away!
Sea Lion: There is no need to raise your voice, I'm right here. I'm just curious if you have any sources to back up your opinion?
Sea Lion, this time at the woman's bedside: You made a statement in public for all to hear. Are you unable to defend the statements you make? Or simply unwilling to have a reasoned discussion?
Woman: You're in my house!
Man, later: Told you, dude. Sea lions.
Sea Lion: I have been unfailingly polite and You have been nothing but rude.
Woman: I am trying to eat breakfast!
Sea lion: Very well, we shall resume in an hour.
oh no but me and several thousand other people already formed entire opinions on the image of the graph and nothing else
1. Many of you have seen a graph purporting to show trans identification has decreased in recent years.

Matt Walsh and Elon Musk celebrated it as a victory over "transgenderism."

Turns out, the entire graph is based on an egregious math and statistics error.

Fact Check: No, There Is Not A New Survey Showing Trans Identity Is Decreasing
The claim, which originates from far-right professor Eric Kaufmann, appears to have made a glaring error: the survey actually shows more people have come out, not fewer.

If you are new to Bluesky, it has a rule that one person can’t eat all the fully loaded nachos
was that label ever self-applied..?
the indefinite comatose state of radio is...honestly it's just depressing

radio should be magic
One of the small things that's bothered me about the moment is the radio has been the same for 20 years. I grew up in an area with a radio station that played local bands and new talent, but so many FM radio stations are "classic rock" formats now, and they play the same old, in every state.
I've got cds, I pay for satellite radio, i have my mp3 player I buy music off bandcamp

anything but the radio
god it sucks I know all 50 songs on my state's classic rock station

I loathe the radio
the song spirit of radio is kinda depressing all things considered

TRON'S NOT THE PROBLEM

IT'S FUCKING JARED LETO
I've definitely heard of this but don't know under what context

I also don't know why my original post got a resurgence of attention this week lol
plus everyone I knew that didn't play video games had a ps2 and a few assorted wrestling and sports games anyway
it's just always surprising to hear that it didn't do well because it sure felt like it was great

but playstation had three gta games and xbox had two halos so I guess it checks out
of all my physical games I think I have the most for my gamecube and my Xbox, I was pretty content
the drop off from the 360 to everything Microsoft released since is kinda funny

I loved my 360 but became a pc gamer after that
when you're ten and the gamecube is your only console and every Nintendo mascot is getting games it's hard to have any awareness that it's not selling as well as other consoles, and too busy having fun to care

(me, I was 12 and too young for most ps2 and xbox big name titles)

gc *was* great
I saw this on my timeline the other day but didn't notice it was you that had posted it

amazing

this is ideal because only the persistent will accidentally discover that it can be said, which feels like it would convey the actual experience fairly well
You can't tell it's unselectable until you click it and the feedback says it can't be clicked

that way one of the times it does actually work and your character blurts it out interrupting who's speaking
okay but I can see the vision, you could revisit the idea of unselectable dialogue options for the -really- funny quips

while the other person is speaking it just keeps popping up as a prompt but it isn't selectable

Just for the sake of having a control group I think it would be super interesting to see the leaked telegram messages of various Democratic Party organizations

like just for the hell of it
