Leadership looks like repeating the truth again and again and refusing to back down to bullies and pressure.

It looks like using your platform and leverage-- whatever it may be -- for the larger good.

So grateful to Pritzker and everyone else modeling this now.

Pritzker: "You just heard a tidal wave of lies from the VP. It's a bit shocking. And you heard over & over him just making things up. There's a reason why the judge here in federal court said that they admin lacks credibility and why even the Nobel committee chair said the admin lacks integrity."

Luxon abolished the Govt fund to help industry decarbonise, as he said he didn’t want to subsidise them and carbon price signals were the answer. Then he gave $200m for more fossil fuel exploration and abolished price signals for agribusiness, the biggest polluter.

Vine is at bud break. So it's putting heaps of energy into growth. Pruning now is risky, as then it is trying to heal and grow. I'd leave it alone. When the grapes are set, then I'd prune the extra canes to focus it on growing the grapes

Garden whanau, I forgot to trim my grape vine, can I do it now or is it too late? 🌱

If you want to lead—whether its being PM, delivering a $10B dollar transformation project, conducting the local choir, or leading a non-profit—there is one overarching skill you need: you must bring the people you are leading along the journey with you.
Luxon just doesn't have the skills to do this.

I have heard this repeatedly, particularly among the "we must stop Wikipedia being so left wing" brigade.

and is it wise for them to attack Luxon rather than his party? where does that leave them if a coup happens?

People and businesses who thought they had it bad during Covid are finding out how it is during bad times when the government actually does abandon you. The differences couldn't be more stark #NZPol

Thanks Mike—I watched some of your interviews about water quality in NZ when researching our video. What a shitshow

If you have any supermarket-style fruit boxes, complete with top and bottom, or sturdy paper bags to spare, please drop them off at the foodbank, 275 Hereford Street, between 9am–3pm Monday to Friday down the service driveway where the Red Foodbank flag is. Ring the bell if the gate is closed.

Here are two suggestions for a more vibrant democracy:

- no urgency unless famine, war, pandemic, etc.
- no press releases or document dumps fri-sun.

Mon - Thursday releases only.

Inspired by the select committee dropping the RSB report late on Friday and yesterday's climate change announcement.

NZ's new methane target:

Represents doing nothing if historic efficiency gains continue, and assumes new mitigations won't work.

Worse, our farmers need to realise it cedes the future of the paperwork they complain about to places like Brussels instead of Wellington.

Whistling when ICE is about to kidnap someone for no reason is incredibly effective. They know what they are doing is wrong and will scatter in the wind when too many witnesses gather.
